why would it??? has that other fancy building they put up brought in the amount the people had hoped for??? last i checked in on it the answer was no so what's the difference in this new building and the other one?? just curious
I agree with buttercup. Stop the crime in the area and maybe people would feel safe. and plus anything good that would come to the area does not want too or the GARDEN CLUB stops it. Downtown NATCHEZ is a JOKE!!!!
I disagree . Just because we don't immediately have extra money in our pockets does not mean these places aren't condusive to our economy . Sometimes the garden clubs seem to be extremists, but sometimes you have to ask for a lot to get a little . We haven't walked a mile in their shoes so let's not be to quick to put them down,ya'll. Downtown Natchez makes me smile also but I don't think its a joke . We look pretty good compared to a lot of towns our size .
Buttrercup26, looks like you ate your Wheaties this monrning. There're are new motels, casinos, resturants popping all up over Nat/Vid but, I give then a few years and they will do like everything else that is suppose to bring in the business. For one thing people can't afford to travel anymore. Our days are basically gone like we once knew it. I think it's time for the cities to build grarded safe walkways because that would come in much handier more than a new Covention Center. I tell my granddids how much $1.00 would buy when I was growning up & they can't beleive it. Heck even my grorwn children have doubts.
southernbelle get your head out of the clouds. I have lived here all my life and nothing will ever change in this town during my lifetime. Yes there has been alot stopped by the GardenClub but you let one of the rich folks suggest something and they are all over it like roaches. OH excuse me "CAVIAR" they can afford the evening meals at the Castle they can afford alot when it comes to our youth/ town/ etc. I REFUSE to be blinded by the ignorence in this town. But who am I..........a PEA ON.....
Most large conventions seek to have a meeting place that is adjacent to their hotel. So yes, having the new hotel in its present location should benefit the scheduling of more conventions. How does this simple question posed by the Democrat turn into "garden club" bashing?
