if you are allowed to abuse your privilages, they will. Put a memo up that voices if you are caught useing vehicles for personal use then you will be fired.

I voted for "They Can't" because we've seen how they govern themselves when it comes to pay raises, so they surely can't monitor anything. Why would they think more efficient when they aren't footing any of the bill, and they sure as hell ain't gonna drive their own....so THEY CAN'T

Natchez is a rather small town. Downtown can use the old foot patrols, the other areas can go to real horsepower... bring out the horse patrol. Put blue lights on the carriages and leave them on. The crooks may be confused when they see the lights and stop stealing. Code enforcement can car pool with the police; or deputies; other officials should drive their personal cars anyway. I dont get a car to go to work in.... Have a great day Natchez! I sure miss home.

Buy fuel efficient vehicles for all the city and county employees to drive...try buying all hybrids. Leave the Crown Vics, Impalas, and SUV's at the dealership.

Even bring back the motorcycle "cop". I think they can monitor because "they" (management) will be looking at the employee rather than of themselves. I see many city/county cars on the road everyday and have wondered if they were on business or doing something personal or just riding around.

Downtown could even have bicycle patrols. They use radios now, just have them where they can radio into HQ and get the backup as needed.

Let the people put their brains to this and many ideas will flow.

Buy fuel eff. cars and monitor them. Fire them if caught using them for personal driving. For the county and state employees, buy only for the ones that really need a vehicle, not just because they are a boss or forman. Buy a few motorcycles for the city and county police and monitor them as well.

One way would be cameras at stop lights or coming into town and around school zones . Another way would be to support a growing business in town and buy a few Bad Boy Buggy's for some of the around town law enforcements . They are quiet and run off electricity. Have your fast running vehicles available and ready for the emergencys . Keep air conditioning and heat at an uncomfortable temperature in the jails . After all,they aren't The Hilton .
