We are ready...well we dont have a generator, but ^knock on wood, we have never needed one. We live very close to both hospitals and our power has always been back on within an hour, 3 hours at the most.
Plus, if it gets too bad, we own a business downtown, and the power there is always fixed quickly.
Didn't buy bottled water, dont drink the stuff anyway! lol
I hope this thing doesnt do too much damage, I feel so sorry for all the evacuees.

Gassed up the car and grabbed a few extra canned goods just in case. Not planning on leaving but don't want to have to deal with the zoo at the pumps and the stores like during Katrina.

we are expecting evacuees from New Orleans and they are coming in Saturday. Got extra water on hand and will stop today for some snacks. Everything else already in place. I do need to buy a good emergency radio though.

How many years have hurricanes hit this area? Natchez should not be freaking out just yet. It is good to be prepared, but it is bad to go out and waste a bunch of money. However, if evacuees are coming in from New Orleans, maybe Ntz can open up some churches or the convention center.

I don't think that it's going to be as bad as people are thinking, although i can't blame the people in New Orleans, or the coast for not taking a chance. 3 years ago today. Hurricane Katrina made her way through.

I am almost as ready as I am going to be. Still have to get yard in order so stuff don't blow everywhere. We have lots of supplies as we were without power for 2 weeks after Katrina.

I hope Gustav turns into a Catagerory 5 hurriacane and busts New Orleans wide open. If it would just go ahead and wipe new orleans out then we would not have to worry about it. And haven't ya'll learned from last time?!!! when they evucated after katrina, they went to everyone else's towns and messed it up. the mayor of baton rouge isn't letting them stay in their convention center this time because they tore it up. Houston isn't gonna let them stay in their staduim cause they tore it up last time. hell new orleans won't even open up their own super dome for them cause they tore it up so bad. but go ahead and feel sorry for them. when they tear up your homes and town don't say you weren't warned. My only fear is that they will end up getting into our school systems and messing up our kids education

To thorn in your side you dont have a heart. There were good people that live in new orleans along with the bad. Think about if that was us trying to find somewhere for our families would you feel the same. You are small minded. In other words just grow up. It could happen to Natchez then what?
