Barbour is a true "LAME DUCK" GOV.

He is more concerned with his political future in the Republican party! How obvious can it be?

I think this is a good idea, except the prices are way to high for this market. I have run several silent auctions for a non-profit and gathered the items for the autions and see that the items offered are nice but out of the league of most people here in Natchez.

This is the time shoppers are looking for gifts for Christmas for family and loved ones, with the local economy not in great shape and local merchants even complaining last year of the lack of local shoppers this idea is missing the boat.

Lower price items should be listed first, as I got turned off by the higher priced items up front. Items also could be listed by type ie. food, entertainment, services, outdoor, decorations, vehicle etc. so I wouldn't have to go through the entire list. Good luck....

This reeks of fiscal irresponsibility not at the DC level but locally.

But oh well, who cares, as long as the Recreational Center is built.

Tutoring should be offered at NO cost to the parents and provided for by the local college students for a credit program, mentoring or big brother big sister program.

If the child is making c or below they should be eligable for the tutoring.

Thats the problem here in Natchez sports comes before education and it really shows.

That being said, this is not a booming metropolis how long can it possibly take to count the votes?

On Can’t we find a way to count faster?

Are we talking thousands of ballots? How long does it take to count the absentee votes? This is a joke, trick question right?

On Do you think absentee ballots could be counted before Thanksgiving?

So where are all the concerned parents, grandparents and Natchez bloggers that always complain about the school system. This should be a program advertised and promoted in the schools, churches and neighborhoods to boost the students confidence, learning skills and test scores.

Priorities are certainly skewed when a Rec. center is more important to the citizens than the advancement of our children in academics.
