Something to think about - Natchez.
The people of Natchez are their own worst enemy. Until the black folks and the white folks learn how to get along and live peacefully together, people like alphamale will continue to ask the question...Why can't Natchez High compete? I'll tell you why. Most of the white athletes in Natchez go to Cathedral, Trinity, and ACCS. The reason most of them go there is because their white parents would be scared to death to send their kids to the public schools. Then you have a descent number of good black families that send their kids to Cathedral so they can avoid the drugs and violence at Natchez High. Then you have Trinity Episcopal offering scholarships to non-episcopalian black athletes because they have found that that is the only way they can win championships in the MPSA. Then you got poor little rediculous ACCS who is just a Trinity want-a-be. If the officials in the Natchez public school system would crack down on descipline and get rid of the thugs, and all the kids that go to Cathedral that are not devout Catholics, and all the kids that go to Trinity that are not Episcopalian would return to the NPS system, you then would see Natchez not only compete, but dominate.

Classylady,

I don't know who told you that the official who made the bad call against JC was from FC. But whoever it was told you incorrect information. 4 of the officials were from Natchez (including the white hat) and the 5th was from Brookhaven. For the past two years, there has been only 1 official from Franklin County in the southwest association.
He was in Brookhaven last Friday night and at McComb when FC played Natchez. Most of the officials are from Natchez, Brookhaven, and McComb. Forget about calling the MHSAA to complain about officials. They will just laugh at you. But if you really want something done to improve the officiating, here is what you can do.
1. Go talk to your head football coach. Your football coach is the only person outside of the MHSAA officials' circle that the head of the Southwest Association will talk to. Your coach has a scratch list and a preference list that he turns in to the Assigning Secretary each year. On his scratch list, your coach can list the names of the officials that he does not want calling his games.
I can assure you that scratch list is honored.
2. Talk to some of the guys in your town and all across the area who know about football to get involved and become an official.

When South Natchez and North Natchez were consolidated in 1989, the new Natchez High school had to choose a mascot. They chose "Bulldogs". Then they had to choose school colors. They chose blu and gold. There is an old saying that goes like this: "Immitation is the greatest form of flattery". Thanks Natchez for wanting to be just like us.

Hey pride, we used to play Vidalia and Block. But they, like Brookhaven and Lawrence County, got tired of the butt-whippins they endured and quit playing us. The proof is in the record books. Franklin County may not win every game they play, but they have been unquestionably the best high school football program within 75 miles for the past 5 or 6 years.

Wrong again there 1redneck. The officiating crew assigned to this game has all five officials coming from Lincoln County. It seems to me like the lopsided officiating takes place in Natchez. I agree with tigerfan, this is probably the toughest district in 3A football in the state. Don't you guys play South Pike this week. If so, good luck - hope ya'll win.

Hey dog8, You are mistaken about me not playing sports there Sherlock. Just so happened I lettered 3 years in football where I was all-district as a junior and senior and all-state as a senior; also lettered in baseball. You are right, it only takes 5 to make a basketball team. But when team A has 1310 to pick those 5 from and team B has 449 to pick their 5 from, most of the time team A is going to be the strongest. It would also be lightening strike news if Co-Lin beat LSU. As for the history of Natchez - Franklin County series, we actually lead in football 3 wins to 2 losses. You guys own a decisive lead in basketball (not sure of the actual record) and we own a decisive lead in baseball (again, not sure of the actual record) All total, its actually pretty even (even though it shouldn't be.

I wonder when they are going to get all the mold out of their O.R. so they can start doing surgery again??

Obviously the "blaming the refs excuse" has found its way over to Cathedral now. Natchez High loses - blame the refs; Cathedral loses - blame the refs; ACCS loses - blame the refs; Trinity wins - the refs were great! Must be something in the water over there.

All five of these officials were from Pike County. And I can assure you nobody in Pike County likes Franklin County.
