"The funds collected are essential for the shaping and preservation of a free market economy." --From Ntzmom's post

I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry at this.

I don't think 16 grand is so bad for three months work. It's a nice supplement to their incomes outside the legislature. If they want full-time salaries, they should resign their jobs and be full-time legislators.

Sorry if I was a little snippy. I was feeling bad this morning, and that made me irritable. I know that’s not a good excuse, so please accept my apologies.

Glen was hired as the marketing director sometime after Gene Allen was elected. Since Glen's re-election, he has resigned his position as marketing director effective around the end of the month (source: http://www.natchezdemocrat.com/news/2008... ). He is currently training/transitioning a new marketing director, whose name I don't remember offhand.

Under Louisiana law, you can shoot an intruder until they are dead, so if the dispatcher DID give permission for Connor to shoot Matthew, he wasn’t technically telling him to do anything illegal based on the story that Connor gave him at the time. It may have been a bad judgement call on the part of the dispatcher, because I’m not sure law enforcement should ever give that kind of advice/permission, but they’re making more of an issue of the alleged permission given by destroying the tape if they did so.

But, as someone already pointed out, Connor had already fired several fatal shots into Matthew’s body at that point, so the dispatcher couldn’t really be convicted of anything other than bad judgement and maybe perjury.
