reb1843, the problems you spoke of-illiteracy, unwed mothers, drugs and crime are running rampant in American society in general, not just the black community.

Natashablahblahikov, please explain how a special education teacher is a non-producer that is working the system? That is a very noble job that she does. Just what do you do besides complain?

When I don't like the way something or someone looks...I just turn my head or shut my eyes, it works.

One more thing, with the crimes that have recently been committed against these vulnerable populations, this call and check program may help to ease the worries of some of these folks. No matter who is elected, I would like to see a similar program available in Natchez.

Helping the disabled and elderly does not sound like nonsense to me, it sounds like a good idea...it could work. I think calling to make sure that they are ok falls under the category of protecting and serving, but what do I know? I have a soft spot for this population, after all, I will be elderly one day-hopefully!

There are no "fair weather" fans at my house. Grungebob is correct about history BUT I still hope that he has to eat those words. I look for the Saints to go 13-3, maybe 12-4. They will definitely have a time with New England and the Falcons in the Georgia Dome, Dallas may give them a challenge. We are remaining humble as well, but those Saints sure are looking strong this year. Go Saints!!
