I wish people of Natchez would realize that if ya'll would have stayed in Natchez schools, they would have never gotten so bad. Maybe if ya'll all go back to Natchez schools and tough it out ya'll can help make it better. What burns me up is that Natchez people talk about Vidalia like it's trash. Well if Vidalia is too trashy for you to live here, then don't send your kids to Vidalia schools!! If Vidalia schools are good enough to go to then move to Vidalia and pay the taxes. Simple as that!! I hate it for the kids but the parents should have done right from the beginning.

oldhippie01, You miss took everything I said and I didn't say any thing about church. All I'm saying is that if they are well known and liked in the community then they have a good chance of being voted on regardless of if they went to a debate or not.

Yeh, maybe they had prior engagements or maybe they are known enough and although they are serious about wanting the job, they feel that if they are supposed to get it they will and there is no need to fight for it. If people know someone for who they are, they will vote for them regardless of it they showed or no-showed!!!

Thanks happybunny, I know for fact that alot of people do not go anymore b/c they do not sell alcohol. I myself do not drink on a daily basis, but I sure enjoy whatever chance I may get to do so like at a Family Fun Filled event that allows alcohol. Just makes it so much more enjoyable. There's nothing wrong with alcohol at a family event!! An adult can be an adult and a kid can be a kid. If your kid see's stupid acting drunk people, chances are they will not want to look like that when they are older.

I know people drinking beer can get out of hand, but then again I do not see what it will hurt for people to be able to walk around and drink beer, but if they're not going to allow it in the day, they should at least allow it for the street dance. I have been a part of the festival for years and since they changed location and do not allow alcohol, it's just not the same. And if you notice not near as many people go any more. It was so much more convienent and fun when it was at the Old Court house grounds and more people would stop by b/c perhaps they would forget about it or when it was, then pass by main road and say (Oh yeh, forgot about the Jim Bowie festival this wkend. Let's stop). To Destiny, there is no more walking to McDonough's and back because it's by RV park these days. I think the turn out would be much better if they did serve beer rather you drink it or not it would bring a bigger crowd and not necessarily a bad crowd. There are decent people who like family things such as the festival and may enjoy a drink while they are there. Drinking beer does not make them a bad person although I realize some will over do it.

bolyert- What do you need to know about Pre-K? If for Vidalia, you register at the end of school year for the next year and hope you get in. They only take about 60 or so students. Don't know for Nat.

I am so excited about the new fat mama's althought I liked the old one just fine! Can't wait to go to new one though. I just have to say, not that it matters, but I think all of the problems in the first place came from close by rich people who don't want change. That's what it boils down to. (I think). And to itsmemame, I don't see where downtown Natchez is all that great. It's cluttered and you have to park on the side of the street most of the time, if your lucky enough to find a spot!! My point is, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Carter St. in Vidalia and it's growing everyday.
