When I was growing up, the canteen had a trampoline with harness where we could learn how to do a flip in the air. We also had the opportunity to learn ceremics from pouring the mold, fireing, removing the mold seam and painting our creations. Then there were the Jr. Aux. dances. People donated their time to watch us as we learned new hobbies, skills and just generally had some good clean fun. I cannot remember his name but there was a genteleman who was always there and always willing to help spot us on the trampoline, in the fireing room or just be a friend... The kids today do not have anything like it... It is a shame they are not as prodominant in the canteen as they once were...

"Christian said each child within Adams County’s public and private schools had to turn in a consent form approving them for the vaccine." ... "Next week, the clinic will be providing vaccinations to students at the county’s private schools and three Franklin County schools."

The private schools are next so no discrimination. Read the artical....

I agree with humorme, The suit was filed to stop New York Life from paying on the insurance policy. Then it's hey we the family will drop the suit if you agree to give us a percentage of it... (that percent we are not to know). Then, once this "settlement" was reached... the family bands together with Dr. Hawkins to petition New York Life for the 1 mil. and agreeing that it was an accident, another half a mil... Dr. Hawkins agrees to the settlement giving most of what his wife left for him away, so he can get on with his life... At least that is what I read in the artical and the way it was presented. In my openion it makes the family look like real greedy horses behinds.

Sorry guys, had I truly felt someone had been responsible for my mothers death, I would have seen it through to the end and when all was said and done and a jury had awarded an amount, I would have had that given to my moms favorite charity...

If you want to grow, you have to have something for the people who move here, to do. You need a good public school system, not a war zone. Industry looking for a place to build will also look at these factors. They want content employees with families. If an employee has to go off each weekend to Jackson, Baton Rouge, or New Orleans to find recreation then they will not stay working in Natchez long. They are going to find a job in a city with things to do.

I don't agree wih a full scale rock climbing wall at Duncan Park, thats a recipe for a law suit when a young child falls off, however one at the proposed rec center, what an excellent idea! It would need to be supervised, a job created!!! wow just think of the endless possibilities, a snack bar, more jobs... a go cart track with go cart rentals.. wow more jobs... Then an industry comes to town looking at Natchez as a prospective place to build.. We have recreation, they decide it's a nice place for employees .. they build... wow more jobs... I am not saying this will happen, but what I am saying is it will never happen if we do not try...

For those who do not like change, well you can sit by and watch Natchez shrink smaller and we can all dust off the "Will the last one out of Natchez, please turn off the lights" bumper stickers.

The Hospital is working it's way through bankruptcy and it has 90 k to hire a firm to hire an employee? What if this new CEO does not work out? Spend another 90 K to hire another? What ever happened to the days when people hired their own employees? Sorry just sounds like wasteful spending to me..
