It is pretty pathetic to hear about all of this happening at home! A big A** chain store like Wal-Mart not having a generator to open is amazing. This is the first of the month and older people need their medicines. Someone needs to be grilled to the max!

I don't think Danny's Lounge should have to close by 2am. Unlawful activity takes place all of the time any hour of the day, so why is this club the exception? Since the city is making this request, why don't they step in along with the owner of the club to beef up the security outside the club and share the expense if there is an expense incurred? 1-No one can hang out in the parking lot or in their cars and perhaps they have one of those detectors to check patrons as they enter the club so they KNOW no one has a weapon on them. 2)They could also place an older age restriction if it is believed younger patrons are the cause of any problems. There are already few places to go for a good "clubbing" or nightlife experience in this area as it is. I know I had big fun there back the the day.

Whatever it takes to get the jobs flowing in, do it!

The story is written with such a "gossip" undertone, it is hard to understand. None-the-less, I have to agree with REDUSMFAN.

That is absolutely correct Skippydammit! I left for all of those things. I want to come back, but the vibe I get from reading a lot of the comments in most of the articles are NEGATIVE. To say the least, this negativity is a representation of the city. Who wants to come back and be a part of that?
Who wants to send jobs to a region/state/city/county where negativity hovers like a clouid in the sky? Potential business and corporate people-who perform the demographics on POTENTIAL places of interest for their companies-aren't likely to do so if they continually see some of these comments.
The life in Natchez is at a good pace, especially when you are person like myself who is mid 30's, and has lived in fast paced cities for over 10 years. I make a nice living, have the things I need, but want to slow it back down a bit. Not to mention be around family and a lot of people I grew up with. When I do come home for a visit, I see the change. I see the diversity that has taken place, but it has to continue. All of the negativity can be kept to one's self. We are in an era where people want to be uplifted and find a decent job. The Natchez-Vidalia are may have to sacrifice the environment in order for people to make a living. I don't recall it being an issue when Armstrong was around.....or IP for that matter. Let this industry come in and help the local economy in whatever way it can provide. There is way too much intelligence escaping the area. People like myself would love to come back home and do something wonderful for the community.

This is a touching story and one of motivation for others just like her.
It also allows drivers who read the Democrat to be on the watch for her.
May God always be with her on her travels.

Huge percentage gap there!
On Who would you vote for on the Democratic ticket for Natchez mayor?

Let's not scare the "gamblers" away. The boat that got hit was the new boat, Grand Soleil. Isle of Capri is NOT mentioned ANYWHERE in the article.

I am sure someone sat on their thumbs thinking something like this would never happen in Natchez! Now the businesses should have forward thinking that it is better to be prepared than not, in the future! Amazing!
