aboveitall....if you are family as you say, you are no better than everyone else on this board. All you are doing is adding fuel to the fire for the rest of the people on this board to run with. Why stoop to their level. You are not helping your family by continuing to post. Be "ABOVEITALL" and let everyone think what they want. In today's society we are so worried about what others think. As long as your family knows the truth, who cares about everyone else. The only person whose judgement matters is GOD's.

The board got it wrong! I am not from the area but have family in the parish and concerned about their futures. When a decision like this is to be made you must look at the entire picture, not one thing. Obviously some board members wanted to prove they had power and are not concerned about the future of the children or this parish. It is sad that this country has become so focused on the politics and not what is right for our children's future. The decisions we make today as adults will affect the adults of tomorrow. As an elected official it is your responsibility to make sure the community you represent has a voice. You are not in office to speak for yourself and your beliefs alone but of those who voted you in that position. Obviously the opinions of the communities that they represent were not heard or even respected. On a final note, I would like to wish Dr. Laster the best of luck and know that she will be greatly missed. Just hope her successor can do half as much as she did for the parish.
