I'm sooooooo tired of hearing about politics at this point. I feel as though its been going on forever. I don't want to hear or see anything else, frankly because after being bombarded with the crap I don't care. There are more important issues at hand in my life and the residents of Natchez and the Southeast right now.

I believe you are right about more people coming your direction. Baton Rouge will have no shelters and the hotels are booked for Saturdays game and the new rule with the hotels is that there are a certain number of rooms blocked for emergency personnel and contractors. When Katrina happened they had no place to stay because the evacuees wouldn't leave. I'm heading away from Ascension Parish very soon and hope that I have a home to come back to. I live 45 minutes NW of New Orleans.

Dixiecrat, They may be talking about Natchez LA which is fairly close to Natchitoches. And I assure you, if you've never had the biscuits at the Carriage House then you are missing a treat. Once you try them you'll understand the title.

Aside from the biscuits at the Carriage House, which are the best. I have found that you can buy a bag of the "Mary B's" frozen biscuits, throw away the bag and no one will be the wiser that they weren't home-made. They really are good.
I'm so proud that I can say I come from the Biscuit Capital of the World and presently live in the Jambalaya Capital of the World. LOL

If I am not mistaken, there are no houses with yards near the Main Street businesses that are being referred to. So how are these people able to directly connect the garbage that is thrown in their yards with these establishments? And as far as the condoms go; if you have a small child that doesn't know not to pick things up from the ground then you should be holding their hand so they can't get into something they shouldn't. If they are older then they should already know better than to pick something nasty up off of the ground. I'm not saying it isn't gross but we need to show some responsibility in teaching our children what not to do. We have to take the offense in some situations.
I'm sure things have changed in the past 6 years since I left but, I enjoyed going to Dimple's. I always had a great time.
Thanks to the Cox's for the fun and also for doing what it took to keep the patrons safe.

Enema, Unauthorized Use does mean stolen regardless if it's family or not. I have had the same thing happen to me. They stole my car because I did not tell them they could use it. I also called the law so if my car was found the officers would have known it was "stolen" when the tag was run. And I agree everyone is entitled to their opinion.
And as far as picking him up later; he was already driving with disregard to other people when he ran the stop sign, it obviously didn't matter to him that he could have killed someone by doing that. Later could have been too late to save someone from this disregard for life he obviously felt. But as they say IF a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his butt every time he hopped.

Has anyone considered that if the officers had done what is being suggested, (run into him and make him lose control) that a huge vehicle could have caused much more damage to a person than the bullet. Please people, be realistic here. The officers were doing their job. I'm beyond sure to the point of positive that the people that are complaining would never venture to be in law enforcement. Life happens, no one can predict how their day will go. I'm sure the officers would have preferred a more quiet day.

I think that coward has put a little too much emphasis on generalizing "criminals". If what is said in your post about reading and watching movies were true then I would think we were living in a communist country.

Peace007, That would be against their civil rights.
I remember several years ago when the State Police were called in because the prisoners at the county jail decided to riot because they didn't have cable TV and visitation more often, free phone calling privileges etc. I have to say that it was an amazing site to see the riot police march up State St. but it was all because they were being "treated unfairly"

Gustav is breathing down my back right now so unless the hot air that red spoke of can affect that then they won't have any of my attention.
On Gustav prep, worries begin
