Get somebody to tell you what income range the "middle class" really is defined by. That in itself is a joke. The income category is molded according to politicians agendas. People who are proud to call themselves middle class because of the value system it evokes range from a very low annual salary up to $250,000?

Let's hear the official annual income range that the government truly thinks we (the middle class) fall into and decide whether we believe it or not.

$25,000 a year to $250,000 is a huge gap in income to lump everyone together into one socioeconomic category. The average American doesn't make $250,000 per year.

“Usually that’s primarily related to (if it does) anything to dilute the black voting strength,” Brown said. “In this case, so few people are involved so that’s really not an issues.”

White persons, percent, 2006 - Adams County 43.0%

Doesn't look like it should ever be an issue.

Ah. The gatekeepers are at it again, heady with all of that important power and control over the size of a sign in the thriving metropolis of Natchez, Mississippi. I'm sure there are hundreds of businesses wanting to spend more money than they have on a sign rather than putting it back into their businesses which at this point are having a harder time than ever making ends meet. Yeah, right.

Once again, such pointless time and money wasted over the most insignificant things when you look at them in the big picture.

They should put a sign at every entry to the city with the Natchez creed "If we can't hurt or help you, we'll at least try to stand in your way until you fail."

I suppose the delay in relaying the circumstances of the accident to the public is to prepare for the lawsuits that will ultimately be filed according to which driver is deemed at fault.

One of the sweeteners of this mottled dish of crap they are trying to pass is raising FDIC insurance to $250,000 for ordinary bank accounts.

Q. What do officials hope to accomplish by increasing the insurance limit?

A. "It would be helpful in calming frayed nerves," said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Economy.com. "Depositors are scared."

Q. Would the change be permanent?

A. The higher limit, $250,000, would be effective only until Dec. 31, 2009. After that, barring further congressional action, the limit would revert to $100,000.

No this bailout is not necessary.

When the government bails out these institutions they will not magically open up and start lending money to people to invigorate the economy. They will work on the conservative end of their lending rules and use the money to get comfortable again for their stockholders.

It's time everybody hunkers down and gets back to the basics. American needs to nurse her own wounds for awhile and stop worrying about the world for long enough to get our manufacturing back and be able to be self-sufficient again.

Capitalism without a conscience started this mess. It's time those who took advantage got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.

And I can't believe anyone who feels strongly for either political party could justify what either side is willing to do to us, the American taxpayer. They are showing their true colors. Afraid to pass something because they may not get elected again but wanting to because they would miss their power and their money machines.

We need more Independent voters and viable candidates. They will be the only hope we will ever have for "real change".

The DEQ will probably give enough hope that it's doable and let the process begin. Then in the middle of it they'll require additional information or guidelines that will be hard to arrange. Once that is done they will find another way to put it off or conditionally accept it or deny it. Sort of like the planning department handles things in Natchez. Nobody really knows the rules because they aren't consistent and there's too many chiefs holding the other end of the red tape wrapped around the issue.
