Most of the plants that I have seen use a turbine to generate electricity and most of the turbines are natural gas driven but the media likes to say gas because people can relate to gasoline more than natural gas. The other sources are steam turbines, wind turbines (mostly out west), and nuclear power and they use turbines in their facilities too though since I havent worked in any of them I cant tell you if they are natural gas or steam driven. I did forget the hydro dams

The same thought process can be applied to groceries too. Now that diesel prices are declined how long before that savings is passed on to the consumer? It may be that they make adjustments based on quarterly income... But it doesnt take long for the rates to rise when diesel costs go up. And why is the cost of diesel, which is the first product and the easiest to get out of oil higher than gas? Could it be the regulations and restrictions placed on the manufacturing of it or is it that the cost of the new bio diesel is actually higher than that of the old stuff to make?

Actually I cant think of any constitutionally given rights that say we the people have to know every little detail about every little thing at any given time... sounds a bit like gossip mongering to me. Perhaps we should wait until the whole story is completed by the accident investigators and released to the public before we go spouting out suppositions... I have heard so many theories on this site and people saying we have a right to know. No, you have a right to know when the police release the information. Then and only then will you get the facts. As of right now they probably have a good idea of what went on but remember they are still piecing things together from all these people whos stories may or may not be all together the same.

I would go for cameras on the bridge... especially the west bound its too narrow for the 70 some folks want to drive in rush hour.

To point out one in this thread alone.... and yes he is intitled to his opinion but GopherBaroque calling someone a name is insisitive to them. Are you an animal rights activist? Do you have a problem with people who hunt? Thankfully everyone else just ignored you, but I for one think that the man in the picture has feelings and deserves more respect than to be called names... I see why most of your posts are pulled... perhaps you dont think about the thoughts or feelings of others before you post!

I for one love to read the forums. I check them out almost everyday. I have noticed that peoples tolerance levels on here are getting better and the humor is really great. I know may have voiced some opinions that some people didnt like, but for the most part there is a great love for debate and tolerance on here. In some ways this forum is like an online family where brother and sister dont always agree but we agree to disagree when it counts and support each other when one of us is down.

You've done a great job on here Kevin. The only ones that I really disagree with are slanderous name calling individuals.

Lunatics maybe but good lunatics. I always get a chuckle when I log on here and read the forums. I reckon I am going to vacation in my back yard where the beer is always cold, theres a zero chance of DUI's, and this premium gas is kept to a minimum.

As a side note does anyone remember who it was that redesigned canal street so that a cop cant even tell if you are drunk with all the weaving from one lane to another just to go down one street. Call this a tourist town? Yeah and what if they dont realize they are in a turn here only lane until its too late... lol

Ahhh well who needs em anyway... there will be thousands flocking here soon to gamble their little souls away on the new gambling boats. ummm i mean barges with buildings on them.

I have to say I am with the preservation society... I mean they got rid of all the smelly old smoke stacks around here now they only have to get rid of all the bars and non elitest resteraunts. After that all houses down town have to remodel to be civil war era houses in paint and style, cobble stone the streets, and no traffic is allowed unless by horse and buggy. Think of the jobs they will have created. Vidalia will have all the old business's... but there will be plenty of jobs selling praulines in hoop dresses on the street corner during the busy three months of the year.

Please note the sarcasm dripping: This is exactly why nobody wants to move anything into downtown Natchez. If you took offense to what I wrote dont bother writing to tell me about it... I dont care anymore than they cared when they waited till everything was just about put in place to come back and tell him to rip this out and change that. Dont they realize how much money this costs to do that? Or do they even care? There is a good reason why noone wants to go "downtown" anymore. What is there?

I hope that things go good for them and they have no problems. I can empathize with both the owners and workers there. We do not need more problems for our industries in this area. Best of luck guys and if you need volunteers to move sandbags put out the call... people will help... me included.

Just a final thought before they kick this one to the archives... The trickle down theory was nice when it first came out but does not apply to today. Whatever is left to trickle down is so slight that it feels minute. The brunt of the bread is kept on the table and the worker man picks at the crumbs. I am not saying that the business owner doesnt have a right or deserve to make a profit but unless the workers see some more profits the rate of recycling this cash is going to fall off because they will be too poor or spending the brunt of it on necessities of life to be able to afford the more enjoyable things in life.
