Something has to be done about the school system in Natchez. If you want to put your child in a private school, be ready to fork out $4,000 per year. Why 3 private schools and one public? I think the schools should be combined based on subdivisions. North Natchez, South Natchez, Natchez High (like it used to be).

The whole thing is a SCANDAL! If he used it and didn't tell anyone, and somebody found out afterwards, what would everyone think? He would be using town money for his own pleasures, vacations, partying. So, I guess he figures if he asks, we'll be ok with it? What a joke.

Way to go Mr. Harris! I guess since Gene Allen won't be in there for long, he's trying to suck Ferriday dry before he leaves! That town needs that money, instead Gene Allen will be out on the town on the Vegas strip!! Probably gambling away some of it. And you are all right when you say if she was white, he wouldn't be going. He should pay for this himself. It's HIS vacation!! What a shame! And to think we voted for him!!

Who was driving the vehicle with the two deceased? I wonder if it was the victim that is in Jackson seriously injured. I hope he wasn't drinking. This sounds just like the July 4th incident where the boys were fighting and run off the cliff. It's usually the driver who lives.

Maybe I won't be the only one complaining about the music because the B&B guests will most likely be resting and relaxing and have a few choice words for the drunks outside their bedroom window.

One or two songs is fine but they play Jimmy Buffett and Margaritaville non-stop! and won't change it even after people complain. I love Fat Mama's Tamales and just about anything on the menu. It was just a suggestion. I'm not the only one in age 20's to 30's who thinks the music is terrible. Maybe if your 40-80 yrs old you might relate to the music.

i just hope they don't play that awful music at the new place. That Margaritaville/Jimmy Buffett music is TERRIBLE! It's always playing and we usually leave early due to the music. We've asked them to change it and they say they have to leave it on that station. Play some new hits!! or 80's hits!! anything but Margaritaville! AH!!!

I am confused. I keep seeing Mr. Owen's comment on the Rentech money. The Vidalia Riverwalk doesn't have any recreation for the kids. Hospitals, hotels, and doctor's offices?? What in the world can a child do down there besides jump in the river? There are no swings, no picnic area, no slides, no bbq area. Duncan park has a lot more than Vidalia Riverwalk. I think Vidalia needs recreation. Natchez has a nice place for children to play.
