I posted on that 4 game win streak in one my last three postings to the online forum. But how many teams have stopped NHS from scoring more than 24 a game other than Merdian and Ferriday? (still in the play-offs at Farmervilletonite. Good luck Trojans!) NHS definitely have something to prove to everybody. Who cares about state rankings. When you walk into the field house, our players should see a district or state championship streamer hanging from the ceiling. Tonight is it. If we get through OS tonight, it will a title game against Merifian most favorably. So good luck to our boys and coaches tonight. Bring this one home to us waiting NHS fans, parents, alumni, and former players. BULLDOG PRIDE!!!!

Have the Trojans ever beat Farmerville?

Thats why I posted my comment above talking about the caliber of team Natchez is playing. I want our boys to go down there with high hopes, but I don't want our boys to go down there with big heads and lose focus. Think about what you are playing for and what this means to you and the program. I was expecting to meet Hattiesburg this round, but that didnt happen. Lets not get manhandled like they did by this semmingly intense and hard fighting Greyhound team. Like jagdog said. They dont know who we are, but by the end of the night, lets make sure they definitely remember. Good luck tomorrow night NHS.

Remember fudamentals and consistency count on Friday Bulldogs. Thats to both Bulldogs teams (Franklin Co.) Back to NHS. Offensive line: Protect Javon at all costs. If you haven't been using the chop block in the past, use it Friday night because you all are the bread winners against a quick and agressive Ocean Springs Greyhounds team. Some highlights about them is that they have outscored their opponents all season 302-108. Thats an average score of 25-9 per opponent/game. They pitched a four week shut-out streak from Week 4 to Week 7 of their season 66-0. They dont give up a lot of points, with the most being 22 against Tylertown in a one point loss in week 3. Give the Chiefs credit here.
A positive for Natchez is that we average 31 points a game. So we prove that we can score on you and are a dangerous team to get in a shoot-out with. But defensively, we give up a questionable 23 points a game. Against a team like this, who averages 25, we must get better on D hands down. They thrive on the running game, as do all coast teams. Sam Noblin, their starting QB has a respectable 851 yards passing, considering they have recorded 2048 on the season as a team running the ball. Joe Morrow is their go-to receiver with 26 catches recorded for 517 yards. But as the stats above tell you, they dont pass much because they pound the ball in the trenches all day. Defensively, Wade Wells-76, Dawson Wells-56, and J.T. Dickson-68 are their tackling duo. So these guys are a strong defensive bunch, but I dont think they will weather the Washington, Davis, Pollard storm Friday. Another storm is coming through Ocean Springs and it ain't a tropical one this time. (just a little humor to the huddle) But, overall, good luck to NHS and we will see how this one turns out as I am always confident and excited about the NHS football program.

Its not neccessarily any of the reasons any of you above have talked about either. Think about it. I mean, the last time the Braves were contenders as a football program, McNair was here. Think about it. What SWAC school absolutely invests quality time and money into athletics? Why do you think the SWAC games are only aired in the region and not on National TV? We can sit here and pounce the staff and coaches every year at Alcorn, but the bottom line is they will always be at the bottom because, sad to say, the SWAC is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to recruiting and potential prospects and commits. Not an entirely good example here, but I will say it anyway. Did it ever occur to anyone that the SWAC is always always at the bottom of the page when you look up the SWAC conference on ESPN for scores and stats? Thats a sign to me as well. It sickens me too that our program is losing like it is, but its not entirely the coaches fault why the SWAC isn't as recognized. Think about it. Who besides the black community rushes to BET to watch a SWAC game? Not only this, but how often is a SWAC game televised nationally for all to see? They dont even show SWAC highlights on ESPN like they would the ACC or WAC when the SEC has a game televising. We always have to go to BET or the local stations like the Jackson station to catch one. Even on BET, they may show a CIAA game this week with teams like Fayetteville State or Virginia Union or a MEAC game with Bethune-Cookman or Howard. Its all about the athlete too. How high school athletes would rather pick Alcorn State over Mississippi State or LSU? Only the ones who care about education more than the next level. Thats my thought on this. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ocean Springs is 10-2 coming into this one. They are consistent and talented on both sides of the ball and will not go be easy pickings. But Natchez has the all the tools to get this one done and get to the second round. Like Doc Woods says, "Bring it on home Bulldogs". Natchez will have to protect Javon and lock down on defense in all aspects of the game. Especially against the run game.

WOW!!! What is there to screm about in this one? I wonder would this girl have preferred the flu mist like they give the military? We have to suck the vaccine up our noses and then sit there and block it from running down the back of our throat to get the full effect. Can you imagine swallowing that stuff after a while. Its tons of fun once it kicks in.

I'll say it doesn't matter either coach. Especially after having already won four games in district but still struggled and had to win five games just to get in. We are all proud of the great turn-around of this program thus far and we know that this is the year to do it all. We HAVE to make it further than the second round this time around. I thinking nothing less of South State this year. Good luck boys.

(Moment of silence)
Tonight's motto and for everyday for you all should be "NEVER FORGET" To #9. Don't know who you are, but represent my old jersey well tonight on the field. LOL Keep driving hard and making Natchez proud. I like the newer look of the jerseys compared to the past ones, although I do miss the big "N" on the helmets. GOOD LUCK tonight.
On Natchez players dedicate season to fallen teammate
