I have to agree with NatchezEnema, looks like the city is scrounging for cash, at our expense of course! Many people (including me) moved into the county to get away from city government and city b.s. If this goes through just watch how fast our "leaders" vote themselves another pay increase, one could almost call this "legalized extortion." Thank God I live far enough away so that I won't have to worry about this foolishness, but then again the city may try to annex highway 61 North all the way out to the Jefferson county line next week.

When the next city/county election comes up please remember who did what and who did nothing.

I read this story (the link below) online earlier today, it's sad and it really distrubed me. You talk about child abuse? This is really bad and the people who did it and/or allowed it to happen should be bound, gagged, covered in blood and thrown in a pit full of angry rottweilers.....................for starters. Officials in Philadelphis Pa. are calling it the worst case of child abuse they've ever seen.

The folks who do things like this against children are the lowest of the low, I wouldn't treat a rabid dog this way. The kid in the above link died and now it time for someone to pay, and they should, but this isn't going to bring the kid back. Individuals to commit acts like this shouldn't be allowed to breathe or breed. I'm sorry for ranting but this is WRONG!

Good for you draworks1, glad you got off of this stuff. If OxyContin is this addictive and has side affects like you mentioned then why isn't it pulled from the pharmacies? This sounds like a case of " the cure being worse than the disease."

I've never heard any "good" OxyContin stories, it's all bad. The Jackson newspaper The Clarion Ledger in the past have run articles on OxyContin that will scare the crap out of you, from overdoses, abuse, death, to incarceration. I don't see how this drug helps anyone.

This guy must have a serious drug problem. All of the drugs that he stole are highly addictive and easily abused, especially OxyContin. A family member of mine was prescribed OxyContin after surgery and they refused to take it due to reputation of the drug being highly addictive.

Never underestimate a drug addict, many of them will do anyting for their next high.

There's no drama with Direct TV, they even have local (Mississippi) channels.

No nonsense, it's the truth, try talking to some veteran cops, you'd be suprised.

To sayitloud:
Yes, this is true. He never hesitated to vote himself a payraise either. He was the stereotypical self serving, do nothing politician. I personally know cops who've told me that when they arrested the "wrong person" ol' "Blubber" would come down to the police dept to "talk" to the officer or call the officer's supervisor. Those arrested or ticketed would then become un-arrested or the ticket reduced to a warning, and as in one particular case the officer who refused to "play ball" was taken off of the streets and forced into a desk job because he gave a city official a dui. Yes, the officer was "punished" for doing his job.
I hope that Mr. Feilds cares about the welfare of the cops, it's obvious the "Blubber" didn't.

Good!!! There's new blood in city government. "Blubber" was useless as an alderman not to mention as a Police Comissioner, he hever talked to the cops (except when the cops gave a ticket/dui to the "wrong person." It took too long in my opinion but a new man is in charge now.
