OH heaven forbid we should have a negative impact on vendors. Never mind that there is a law against fireworks in the city that is never enforced they always put an article in the paper reminding everyone that they won't enforce the ban. Now even though there is a burn ban because we are so in need of rain everyone is told it is OK to buy and shoot fireworks anyway. Burn the whole town down, who cares. What a disgrace for leaders.

It might help the problem if those who live in Mississippi put Mississippi car tags on their cars. There is a huge number of people who live here and yet license their cars in Louisiana because it is cheaper. Just this week a couple who live in Adams Co. came in for their inspection sticker yet they have Louisiana tags. The inspector refused as he should have. People do this to save money even though it is against the law. This is much like the people who lie about where they live when they live in Natchez and yet try to register their children in Louisiana schools because they don't want them in Natchez schools. What is wrong with people who think it is OK to break the law or lie, how do they think they can raise children and expect them to act any different?

It doesn't matter what name they put on it I still think it looks like a mental institution with a postage stamp size fish pond they call a swimming pool.

What has happened to people doing what needs to be done without a hand out from the government? Where do you think these government funds come from? The president may think he lives in The Land of OZ but he has his hand up to his shoulder in the taxpayers pocket.

Why would it take a year to go before a grand jury? Is this guy out on the streets smoking pot and free to stab again?

Love the birds and always keep out lots of feed. We keep a bird book handy in case we spot a new bird. I have to say, I have seen lots of different birds but never in my life have I seen a Great Blue Herring. I think the person who wrote this article needs a bird book also, surely they were talking about a Great Blue Heron?

Strange how Mr. Hudson says this is all B&K's fault. I for one don't care if they never build another casino in Natchez. Maybe he can get the Democrats in congress to bail them out. They still have signs on on the highway to Brookhaven saying the Grand Soleil will open in October 2008. A little behind schedule don't you think. I am sorry for these contractors but that is not the banks fault.

I see no one on here bashing the lady who died. As for putting the name in the crime reports, what is wrong with that. It is still a crime to drive when you have been drinking and even if you do not have a wreck but receive a DUI it will be listed in the crime reports. If the police are at fault it is only because they do not arrest these people as they come out of the bars and get in their cars. Our streets are full of people leaving bars after spending hours drinking.

I agree with Alderman Gray, we do have a speeding problem in Natchez. Almost every day we read in the ND that we need money. It seems to me that if the law enforcement officers would just issue speeding tickets and tickets for other traffic laws that are constantly broken we would have all the money we need. Look at the records and see how many speeding tickets are issued. Do they just not want to do the paper work?

What is the point of putting this in the paper? The shooting happened on July 2 and here it is July 11 and still nobody know anything.
