Im just astounded at some of these comments. Souixlady, i wish i could get food stamps, im hungry. Yes i work and go to school, but rent and bills must be paid. For students to get foodstamp, you must work a certain amount of hours a week, and my school schedule dosent allow that. And healtcare, im to old to be on my mothers but im still in school and cant afford my own so what are the many people in my situation supposed to do. When i graduate, hopefully i can get a job and afford it, but until then i pray nothing serious happens.

This is my opinion, only an opinion. I know nobody will agree with me but this is just how i feel. The situation we are in now is bad. People are loosing jobs left and right, i work for the university, and there is a hiring freeze until the 2011 fiscal year. Not a professor or a janitor will be hired. The problem is, no matter what we do its gonna get worse. Even if you Hate Obama, you still have to look at the situation with an open mind. you gotta understand thats its gonna get much much worse before it gets better. The problem is the American people want results NOW, not later. There is no question that the stimulus plan is going to bail out alot of industries NOW, just like we want. If we don't, next year there wont be a GMC, so what are all of those people gonna work. How are they gonna feed there kids, and families. Those are people who paid taxes every year and worked hard. I honestly don't think there is a solution. What can we really do, in all seriousness.

Wouldn't that be something like the last stimulus package that they sent out last year. It all depends on the person. Will they understand that just because they just got a lump sum of money, that dosent mean that they can afford to buy a new car or house. If this bill dosent pass though wouldn't the auto makers and the banks bottom out. I don't think we can buy enough cars to get them out of the state they are in now, plus alot of people are going foreign these days, more dependable.

LOVESNATCHEZ.........wow. I don't imagine you would know any white living soul who owned slaves, probably because they would have to been around since 1865. Your right, ill just forget about the whole slavery thing, and the civil rights movement. It shouldn't matter to me right, shucks nobody can stop me from voting. It dosen't matter what my people went through, or my grandparents. I should just "get the hell over it and move forward". Hey, i got an idea LOVESNATCHEZ, lets see if we can do away with black history month all together, then maybe they'll stop bringing all this civil rights stuff up.

What ticks me off, southernlady1776, is when people try and tell us that we should just forget about how our grandparents and great grandparents were treated. That we should just forget about our family members who were lynced and beaten cause they tried to register to vote, or they looked at a white woman. What makes me angry, southernlady1776, is when people like you try and downplay the severity of the opression that our own FAMILY members were put through. I don't stay angry though, southernlady1776, because i love GOD. Peole should really think about what they are saying before they make comments on this blog in general. I see alot of things pople say that just makes me shake my head. Downgrading people you don't know and wishing death on others. I just wonder sometimes how can you call yourselve Christians with some of the things you are saying. I don't care what people have to say about me, im just telling the truth. You can take my words and twist 'em and turn 'em however you want, but you can't change the substance.
