Sad to see that it takes this and the Jena incident to gain national attention.

Congratulation's Tony! I'm sure you'll serve the people of Natchez well. Although politics and religion aren't supposed to mix, continue to do the Lord's work and everything else will fall into place with the politics. Good Luck!

My Brother Tony,
Words can't express my feelings about your loss when I heard the news yesterday. During this difficult time, I pray that the Lord comforts and strengthens you, although I know much heartache is felt as it is also felt within me. I can still remember when you introduced me to Kim at Alcorn. She was a beautiful person; a match made for you, and she will be missed. She has gone to be with God, Coach, and other love ones that have gone before them to a place where there is no more suffering and sorrows. But remember this brother; Those We Love Don't Go Away, They Walk Beside Us Everyday. God bless you, Lil' T and family and remember those who love you and who you hold dear. Love you bro!

Through his trial and all, I am still wondering how a man stole from the county in order to pay his bills and help others pay off their debts like your favorite example "Robin Hood" and then quickly managed to come up with that amount of money in a very short time and "ding", I got to thinking: Bill companies don't refund money and he doesn't make that much money in that short of a time frame. He wasn't out standing in the middle of the highway at the traffic lights with a buckets and a sign saying "Save Binkey and Donate", he didn't transports some drugs (If he did, the Democrat would have printed it before the police even had a clue with the close watch they have on him :-]), so how did he do it?
Think about it; being a circuit clerk, there are many accounts involved that are deducted from and credited to daily. There are many people that work in the office other than he that are ALSO responsible for making sure the correct accounts are deducted from and credited to, and then advising him on those deductions and credits. Just like a person who put money into their checking account and the rest in their savings without taking into account a transaction or two that they made that may overdraft their account, the office may have made the same error. That's mismanaging funds, which can happen since they are all human. He corrected his mistake by transferring the funds from the account in which their was more than should have been to the account where there wasn't enough. I can't see too much criminal negligence in that, although I see where people would be alarmed. After all, it isn't personal accounts belonging to one individual, but accounts for the people of Adams County. If he'd been seen spending $50K in the Casino or taking a world tour with it, I'd be outraged, but the money was still there with no threat of being used elsewhere. What he gave people, he gave people from his pocket. If he was buying votes as stated above, he must have started buying a few years before this term was to end. Last time I checked, politicians that try to earn votes with cash, prizes, parties, etc. don't do all this until election time.
Circuit Clerk is a risky job to start and his deputies or former deputies may have made that mistake, but it is he that took the fall for it. But after all of what has been handed to him, it speaks volume that he is leading the polls, or maybe it's because he spent a fortune buying 1187.5(half) of his votes.....;-{

I have a question....has the African American population taken over Adams County or the Congregation of the Church that he attended even equal 250? Even if the African American Race has become the majority, there were plenty of them with Hollowell (sp?), Wilber Johnson, and Eddie Walker signs in their yards. If these people went to the polls, then this alone would show that more people than the African Americans apparently casted their vote for Binkey. So erase your little theories that "The Black Man put Binkey in the office" and "He paid their bill and they voted for him" nonsense. I know of people that he has helped in the past that still didn't vote for him! I guess next, someone will write that he dropped some extra votes in some kind of way. Wouldn't surprise me. Hateraid seems to be a higher commodity than oil these days.

No need for insults. Grown people shouldn't have need for insults unless they aren't intelligent enough to defend their point-of-views with real facts that support their opinion. Regardless of what was, if he is re-elected, the best man won. The people that LIVE IN NATCHEZ who used their right to vote spoke, not Binkey, not a used-to-be Citizen of Natchez, not and outsider. If an outsider has a problem, maybe he/she should move here and register to vote and use their vote to help make that change happen that they seek. Otherwise, there is very little to be upset about. People are always quick to cast the first stone, but very few are willing to squash the past and move on. Why is that so, when most claim to be a Christian? Pilot indirectly crucified Jesus, and yet Jesus still forgave him and all those who were involved in and the events that led up to this treacherous but blessed event. Binkey put his trust in the Lord, which everyone should do, am I right? Regardless of what happened in your past, one event doesn't change your status as a Christian unless you don't repent and ask GOD for forgiveness. If no one else forgave Binkey (This is not apparent looking at the current poll results), GOD did and that's enough for Mr. Vines! May the best man win!
