Luke always walked into a room with a smile and an upbeat spirit. I know today he is with "the sisters" and all the others that helped shaped our lives. Up there right now it is like St. Peter Rock #1 on a 1st Sunday, the house is surely rocking.
Love you Luke...you always made my day better.

Ms. Mazique was more instrumental in the
civil rights movement in our town than most
folks realize...the Iron Horse of Woodlawn.
We should all read the MS Sovergein acrchives.

Ms. Mazique should be interviewed and her
viewpoint from the 60's documented.

There is so much Black History in Nat from
the 60's....it should be captured before
they are all gone.

Thank you Ms. Mazique....

An American Hero.
We share in this great American loss, All America shares in this great loss.

We must never forget him and his contributions to this great nation.

My prayers are with your wife
and your children.

This is indeed what "Home of the Brave" refers to.

We will miss you cuz.

Robert Johnson III a real hero!!!

Here is a young man that could have departed our local region
and made his mark anywhere in America. He has stayed around
and helped our community with his legislative actions and his
leadership skills. In addition he has inspired legions of young
boys and girls to seek the path to success via a strong education.

He is underappreciated and for the most part ignored by the local press.
He is indeed a local treasure, a rainmaker, and a local hero.
We need many more like him, and we will get many more like him...
because he stayed here to help, and he has led by example.

Truly an unsung hero...Bobby you are GREAT!!!!

If no one else knows, just know that I know...you have made a difference!!!

People are people whether at church or not..we all fall short.
this is only a reflection on the people involved, not the
Entire congregation. We go to church to get better, not
Because we are better.

As a former member of the "Sonic Boom" (about a 1,000 years ago)...let me explain something:
a) it takes lots of hard work, hours upon hours of practice
in all sorts of weather.
b) it teaches discipline.
c) you learn how to manage your time wisely
d) you voluntarily participate
e) it is a tradition
f) you "act right" or you get kicked out!!!
g) it is the ultimate "team-building" exercise

It is an outlet for hard-working and dedicated college kids that want to be part of something
that is bigger than themselves.

For me it was the first time I truly feared an instructor...I was
scared to death of Mr. Haughton (the band director). His
mantra was "You keep doing it, until you get it right, then do it some more!!!" He would embaress you in front of 250 kids...
you learned how to pay attention!!!!

Where else can 250 kids be melded into one precise accord?
Where else can total and complete respect be demanded by
an instructor?

The students in the marching bands from LSU, JSU, SU, Ole Miss, Alcorn, etc... all deserve respect. They all work very hard
for no pay, just to entertain you at half-time.

If you don't like it...go buy some popcorn during half-time.
