HEADLINE: What happens in Vegas stays off city payroll
I found it amusing that just below the headline was an ad for a candidate for mayor.

froggie : "See, some were quick to judge that young man that was arrested for DWI and it appears he didn't cause this. He may have been driving drunk, but he didn't hit another vehicle, so the unfortunate death of those two young men were not his fault."

This has to be one of the most asinine comments I have ever read. I WILL judge the young man with the DWI. You are condoning the fact that he was driving drunk. Just because he was lucky enough not to hurt someone else this time doesn't mean he will be so lucky next time.

"A recent trip to Natchez High School reminded me of the residual consequences of bright ideas that fail to live up to their expectations."

It's not the buildings fault. Disrespectful, lawless, hateful, ignorant children will find a way to misbehave even if you put them in a four by five cell.
I say ignorant because their parents haven't taught them any better.
I guess in my day the kids respected the limits and accepted the consequences. I do know there was no need for security back when teachers and administrators demanded and got respect.

Comparing Natchez to Oxford isn't exactly apples to apples.
If it is, maybe building a stadium and getting Co-lin or better yet LSU to play some games there would help out.

mike8427, who do you think will get the subsidies that the farmers now get. My point was that no matter what we do(and we do need to try) the price of fuel and food and all the products associated with oil (plastics) will continue to rise. And a large portion of that escalation will be pure profit. Also the fact that bio-fuel production uses more fossil fuel to produce it than it creates in the form of ethanol and bio-diesel. That means it is not a viable alternative for replacing oil and getting us any closer to energy independence.

When crude was $60 a barrel before Katrina gas still cost $3 a gallon. We could all cut our demand in half and the price would still go up. $10 Billion in profit for one quarter and you tell me supply is the problem. Supply and demand is just smoke, it's all about greed. As far as alternative fuels, I would rather pay $5 for gas and be able to eat than pay $4.75 for ethanol and $10 for a gallon of milk. (cows eat grain, hope i didn't need to explain that)
