It is nice that people get out and pat a veteran on the back but unless you have a family member directly involved, either active military or suffering from time spent in combat you will never understand the sacrifices made. Easy to say freedom is not free, but reality is, war comes at an extreme cost to all involved.

Untrained people with egos are never a good mix.

Vidalia has wasted their river front property as badly as Natchez has. Okay the $110,000 is not only for a water fountain but a garden hose to rinse off the boats too.

They should be in a museum alongside the aircraft, trains and automobiles that served their purpose and should be remembered as a begining that got us where we are today. I am glad this reasoning isn't used to arm our military because sticks, stones and spears have also been replaced.

$110,000 for a water fountain sounds a little expensive to me. I don't think I want Natchez politicians to listen or learn from that.

They have to find some way to pay all the city employees that do nothing. If this bunch isn't putting their foot in their mouths they are shooting themselves in the foot. Maybe they should try doing both at the same time, foot in mouth first.

I am not in a wheelchair or on crutches but my knees aren't as reliable as they once were. Natchez is listed as a retirement community so anything done to the streets and sidewalks to make them elderly friendly is welcomed by me.

I think the county will do fine with either Brown or Mayfield. I'm voting for Mayfield, again.

Yes, this falls under economic development. Get out and make a First Friday so you can see how hard the merchants are working. All of us myself included have ripped Natchez apart with criticism. Nothing has changed, I'm going to try a different approach. I will complement the ones doing a good job and are making a difference. Downtown Natchez, with a little help can become a place for all of us to shop and visit. If you have been around here for over 35 -40 years you can remember what it was and if you look hard enough you will see it hasn't changed all that much.
On Do you think the EDA should help fund the Natchez Downtown Development Association?
