I feel these times are really scary. You don't hear anything good anymore. In my opinion, no one that has never served in one of the armed forces, including border patrol, coast guard,etc. really knows what it means to SERVE the country. I don't think they are truly qualified to serve as president. Obama may be very intelligent and charismatic. He has won many over to his side with his smooth talk. Oh, he calls it straight talk. But never think that if he wins he will just be handed the presidency. There are to many illegally registered voters and too many hands on the books to let anything go unchecked. It will be the same if McCain wins. The Democrats will want a recount. Please, for the sake of the country and our children vote McCain/Palin.

Ronnie McMillin will be the absolute best for the job. He's a good Christian man and enjoys his job and family. You'll be wise to give him the job.

You can't wait for someone to pick-up the little stuff. If you're able, pick it up yourself. Yes, the city and county should get the big stuff. It shouldn't all be left for waste management. They can't get it all at one time.

"Hill" gave an excellent speech last night. She spoke from her guts. I know there were several in attendance that regretted voting for O-man. Hillary should be on the Democratic ticket. We should all write her in when we vote. After all, she's not black and she's a woman. All jokes aside, "HILL" got everyone's attention. HILARY FOR PRESIDENT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember how anxious we'd all get when the end of school neared. It was great to sleep late, go to the Duncan park pool, the Elks, or Stanton Hall. Cut the grass and rake the yard for a little change and go to the movie. Go to the lake, go to Bible school, etc. Things are really different now. Now, I worry about those bored little hoodlums that can't wait to vandalize your car, front yard, terrorize your pets in their fenced yard, oh, don't forget about the parents that take the kids to walmart and pick them up about 3-4 hours later.
I know some of ya'll will unload on me for these statements. Just first, be thankful you're in a good neighborhood. Not all kids are bad, but, the bad ones are really BAD.

We've all heard the term "Mighty Mississippi." At this time, she's mighty mighty. I am very concerned about Vidalia and the residents living just behind the levee. There's a lot of seepage. Some areas are pretty stinky, too.

What makes me sick about this situation is the fact that Mr. Wallace has been through this before. 1973 and 1997. He hears the news just like we do. Why did he not take the assistance when it was offered? He's lost cattle in previous floods and I guess he simply doesn't care. If you are going to raise cattle, horses, pigs, etc., you are obligated to take care of them and I feel he is guilty of being neglegent and inhumane.

Oldgranddad, please forgive me if I have offended you. it's nothing personal regarding granning, i really like him as well as his family. What I meant was, either one candidate or two, otherwise the votes will be seriously split. It's happened before. It's a free country, vote your conscience. Best of luck to all the candidates.

I'm just waiting to see ACORN get busted. Voter fraud. I'm waiting to see the media really lose it. All these projections, etc. Don't give up until the last vote is counted. Have you noticed that when Obama is on TV, you mostly see white people standing behind him? What is that implying? I see those people as really too stupid to see beyond the message. We all better look beyond the message...McCain/Palin 08. If obama goes in, within less than 72 hours we'll be a third world country, if we last that long. He only has Biden to lean on in case of a terrorist attack. He won't have a chance. McCain*McCain*McCain. If you took race out of the equation, McCain would be a shoe in. Right now, Obama is viewed as the great non-white hope. He has no experience, people. He can talk, that's all.
