It was the sacrifices of men like this that helped to bring about the rights that blacks enjoy today. But I have to say to the younger ones, SUCK IT UP. Get a job, marry your babies mother and be proud of this great country that your blessed to live in. Looking at the conditions (HIV, genocide, dictatorship etc) that Africans live in today I would be thankful that my forefathers were sold into slavery by fellow tribesmen and survived long enough for me to be born in America today.
Maybe in another 100 years or so the white man will be able to celebrate white history month, a holiday name for a white man, a white tv station-WET, white book section at the book store, NAACaucasianP etc etc.
I'm not old enough to remember blacks being treated that way and I'm tired of being found guilty for what I had nothing to do with. I went to school, served in the military, worked, ate, slept and worshiped among other things right along side blacks. But I will tell you what I've had happened to me that only those like Mr. Campbell knows about. I've been turned down for a job even though I made one of the highest grades because I am a white male. There are many programs today that don't apply to a white males.
I congradulate Mr. Campbell-he was willing to stand. But I feel now, that we have reached a place in our history that it's time to move on. I know and the everyone else knows that blacks today have every opportunity that any other color has in this country. Lets move on because I'm tired of being reminded of a wrong I had nothing to do with.

It would have been impossible for Obama to be elected without the white vote. That I believe shows that the whites have crossed that barrier. But to read that 95+ percent of the blacks voted for him says one of 2 things. Either most blacks are racist or their ungodly. No CHRISTIAN (TRUE) could have voted for Obama because of his views on abortion and gay marriage. So if your one of the 95+% blacks tell me what you are? I have the unmost respect for those blacks that voted because of their convictions and not their color. Thank you. The rest of you have a long way to go and the shoe is on the other foot now. O BUT I FORGOT, ONLY WHITES CAN BE RACIST.

Hearing that the old school would be torn down brought sadness to me also. So many memories began to surface that I had almost forgotten for good. Reading the kind words that jammin1 said about Mr. Miley, my dad Mr. Tisdale and all the others are really appreciated by my family. Daddy has been gone for over 4 years now. knowing he made a difference in one childs life was all the reward he ever wanted.
I never went to the old junior high but I spent as much time there as any student. I remember making many a lap up and down the practice field on dads heals as he coached the Bull Pups. Or wrestling with the players in the locker room before or after a game. I was the official tee boy and lived for the next game so I could be on the bus or in the gym or field with dad and the players. I remember making a many a trip down the long hallway to dads room and getting special treatment from all the teachers like Mr. Miley, Mr. Davis and others.
I can't count how many times I crawled to the top of the old fire escapes to get to slide back down. I will miss the old school and the many fond memories but the truth is it was the special people there that made it so fond and dear to our hearts that I will miss the most. I guess its time for a new building for a new generation that they can hopefully fill with good people that will make a difference in many lives. And maybe in 40 years or so they to can look back down memories lane with the same feelings that we have today.
