The Arcade was it's name..It's a rebirth of a beginning in downtown Ferriday, and that's great because I was there when blacks had to sit up top and whites on the bottom and I remember the day when both white & black could sit together. And I remember when they closed..and became a night club. Because everyone started driving to Natchez to see the new Mall cinema. PS ..please bring back the drive-in theater.

Danny's Lounge faces toward the Mississippi River on west-side of levee. The city of Vidalia can still get thier taxes and Danny's Lounge can cut crime in the area by 98% if they make the club a oldies motown sound club. Because back in the days before 1990 the cool people from Ferriday-Natchez-Vidalia would chill, respect women, no loud music in cars so everyone would know that we are coming down the street. When you look at it this way these children today don't have what we had..having a good time on Saturday Night, see you in Church on Sunday. Violence rules these children in everything they say or do from Jerry Springer to video games to normal. NO one cares until something happen. Back in the day if someone got out of hand with a lady, someone would step up to her defense. Today that same lady will curse you out for stepping up to her beau and fight you :) for getting in her business !

To the editor & news room of the Natchez Confederate Democrat newspaper. How could you not write about history being made World-Wide (AP). It's amazing to see how the southern democratic party , the party of the KKK came from humble beginnings. The way the Republlcan party looks today , you would not know that it was created by both Black & White citzens who served in Congress. Your paper is world wide because of this medium, so act world wide or just write print only to the people there. Because yall make everyone there seem to be in the year 1820. Oh, back to this story- Congratulations JAKE !

The real 411 - Councilman Harris stood up for what is right, period. (ps) he is Black if you wanted to Know. But the real deal is when anyone miss use their power in office as we have seen all over this country, it's time to pull their coat tail. Mayor Allen & Councilwoman Lloyd you both should know better...Years ago you both were blessed with a beautiful daughter Tiffany. It's not like you need the town's money for this trip, if so, stay out of Natchez. And give Mr. Harris a call of Thanks for not making a bad mistake.

Well I hope the Vidalia Riverfront pounded telephone poles into the ground before building it because that will help keep the soft soil below river level in tact longer with the foundation.

Dear gwhiii, glad to hear from you about that incident, I thought it was just me. I was driving to Tensas on a saturday afternoon passing by Wal-Mart building & Ferriday Market travaling 45mph. Once you pass Dollar General next door, the speed sign changes to 55mph, 10-20 feet later the speed sign changes to 65mph. I got a ticket because the officer said I excellorated to 55mph right before I reached the 55mph sign. And that I could not do 55mph a feet before the sign although I was headed out of town on a four-lane highway in the country. Court is at 6pm on Tuesdays. I worked in Alexandria @ 5:30pm so I paid the $100
