I agree whole-heartedly with everything Scarlettohara said and Fraisoclowns, YOU ARE NUTS!

It's quite obvious who's confused around here gator. If you had comprehended what I said a little better, which I'm not terribly surprised you did not, you would see that I clearly stated that although I'm no advocate, I don't see the connection between rap music and violence. That's strictly my opinion and you are right, it's my business. Do you get it now?!

I do agree that music can have a negative impact on impressionable people. My concern with Gator's message is the implication that rap music specifically is tied to crime. Just like Justice said, Manson's clan listened to the Beatles. All different types of music can affect people in many different ways. I mean, look at this horrible situation with the two young adults the article above is about. According to hytekredneck, neither of the two fall into the category of "gangstas" or even listen to rap music, yet they are guilty of crimes that, according to Gator, are associated with it. All I'm saying is that no one should be so closed-minded as to believe that rap can make a person go out and rob, steal or kill. Not all rap music encourages that behavior just like not all heavy metal encourages biting the heads off of bats.
I will agree with the fact that those who choose to pattern themselves after these so called "gangsta" rappers, should find positive role models to follow, however.

I feel that same way about bluegrass and heavy metal...that's not real music in my opinion but those are my personal views. It would be insane for me to imply that every person that listens to Marilyn Manson or Ozzy has the potential to break the law. Don't get me wrong, I'm no rap advocate. A lot of that crap should be outlawed but only those with the weakest of minds would let the lyrics of a song influence them to the point they commit a crime. If they're that weak, they could be influenced by most anything. Anything could just as easily set them off. With proper upbringing and influence, any person, no matter what they listen to, will know right from wrong. I think it's just a cop out to use rap as the primary reason. I would feel this same way if Gator had blamed this situation on any other style of music as well. Just the whole concept is ridiculous but I do respect Gator's opinion.
I do agree with 1redneck to a certain extent. Historically, drugs and music do go hand and hand but I hardly believe it has anything to do with the type of music. I think it's more related to the lifestyle these people lead. That's consistent across the board for any genre of music.

Oh my goodness. Gator, what in the world does rap music have to do with two thugs being caught with crystal meth? How you relate the two, I will never know. I mean really, get a grip.

I agree with reader. The NCH letter is very mocking in nature and quite apparently an attempt to discredit NRMC. If their intentions were, in fact, to make a potentially harmful situation known to the appropriate staff with intentions of rectifying the situation, why was the letter composed and sent several days after the alleged incident? More importantly, why would they go the extra mile to send the letter to entities who would not be directly involved in a resolution? What in the world could Metro or AMR do about it if NRMC is operating their ER against regulations?
Neither hospital is perfect...I don't know one that is. It's just ashamed that NCH has to stoop to this level and with no merit whatsoever. If I were CEO of NRMC, I'd send a letter of my own...stating what day and time I'd see them in court for slander.

I agree 100%. That slogan of theirs should be changed to "watch us make you frown" because that's all I end up doing every time I need service (which is way more than I like) and have to wait a whole week to get someone out. Their service is the absolute worse and to add insult to injury, they go up on the already ridiculously high rates every couple of months. If any other provider comes into town, I'm sold.
