Great event!!! The Lord held off the rain just for us. Some people were asking me about buying shirts at the event, so maybe each team could purchase extra shirts to sell at the event and new members could be added that night during the Relay. One lady, that I spoke with about this said that she was going to start a team at her job. I just love this event and my hats goes off to all that made it a successful one. There were so many behind the scenes people that many wouldn't know about like Mrs. Lanehart, her husband and son and many others that I didn't know their names, but Mrs. Lanehart kept telling Janis to go home, but Janis effortlessly endured and stayed to help take down the big tent. Also, to the men from the correctional institute that helped and probably never get any credit, you guys did a great job.

Once again, I repeat what I said about the last tragedy only POSITIVE comments should be allowed especially to sensitive stories. You wouldn't want anyone to make these type of comments if this was your family. So wake up people God is trying to tell this area something. Are you listening?

On Man killed in Saturday morning one-car wreck

Posted on June 2 at 6:21 a.m.

This is such a tragic story like so many of the other stories that have been posted lately. All the people in the area have been affected and touched by them in some manner. Kevin was truly an example of a young man with class and dignity, although I only knew him for a short period of time, I could tell he was a remarkable young man. I am concerned that this type of forum only promotes gossip and generally doesn't promote peace. I am sure that this was not your intent to the person who decided to come up with this idea, but if some guidelines were established to the comments being made perhaps this would make it much better on all of the families involved. Only positive comments should be allowed.

Steve will truly be missed. I was sadden when I heard of his sudden demise, but I thought later about his humble spirit. He was also a great basketball player for North Natchez.
