Aldermen, please listen to Chief Mullins. We are fortunate to have him here in Natchez and need to heed his advice. It would enhance one of the basic services a municipality should provide its citizens. Maybe Alderman Gray will understand this idea after he reads the above article.

What a great event! Thanks go most of all to Keith and Melisa for doing more than everyone else combined. A wonderful community happening that showcases our great natural asset, the Mighty Mississippi River!

Good letter by Tom. I wonder if any elected city officials will have a comeback letter to address your concerns or explain their actions. I, for one, am anxiously awaiting answers. Maybe they feel no need to rationalize their behavior since they are elected and we are not.

Brett, I would like to apologize for my votes cast in the last city election. I actually helped put a few of these city officials in office. I'm at a loss for an explanation of what is going on here with our city politics. I won't make the same mistake twice! Thank you Brett for your noble efforts. Hope you did not have to buy with your own money that new computer to do the city's work. The citizens of Natchez will benefit for at least the next couple of decades from your excellent service.

As Ricky Ricardo used to say, "Can somebody pleez splain this to me?" It appears that a successful grant writer would be one of the last of the city personnel to be laid off. How about the possibility of reducing hours for all hourly employees, cutting back on some of the salaries, reduce alderman pay, and then weed out some of those full timers that only put out part time effort.

We need a natatorium complex with indoor and outdoor pools! Year round swim meets, parties, lessons, exercise, and relaxation. Rain or shine, day or night. That's the only way I'll vote for it.
