Suzee971, You've visited 3 places,WOW! I wouldnt think Branson, MS State Fair, and Dogpatch USA count ,as being a world traveler. It kind of broke my heart seeing the two year old asleep, but for any of you to think of calling child services is ridiculous. You are already condeming these people for things they have'nt experienced yet(weather, sickness) I would think the parents have already considered this and are prepared.

I can't be concerned with my own kids and the kids of others who show no self respect, discipline, nor motivation to want to stay in school that my my tax dollars provide them with. Just because its a public place does'nt give anyone free reign to do as they wish

Why can't they meet at Arcenaux's house, or at one of the the local black pastors homes who are so concerned about the future and well being of their youths.

with all due respect I dont think it will hurt anything that Mrs Brown is sheriff for awhile. It is customary for an elected persons widow to be asked to serve. However, if things go smoothly during her tenure, why not say thanks to the sheriff deputies and staff who nursed her along,as they should. Her success will be determined by the cooperation she receives and not by experience,in my opinion

Beammeupscotty "Most of the people....go into debt trying to keep up an appearance that they are special" has got to be the most ignorant, uninformed statement I've read on this subject.Yeah its costly for some families but its their business. You sound real bitter about the Pilgrimage. Are you mad because no one asked you to dance during the Polka?

Hardcorps,Whether you care about the Maypole or not ,what you have is a young lady promoting a Natchez attaction to tourists and locals alike. She cares enough to take time out to write about the "pilgrimage" but also Natchez homes, City cemetary, etc. She's doing something, why all you can say is we need,we need...

Do you really think Mathis or Gray care what anyone on this blog thinks? Worse yet, do you think their constituents care or even know what they are doing or not doing for them? Look at their districts, the litter,despair(self-inflicted), you name it. Mathis and Gray get re-elected every time a story like this one comes out. Its not about progress in their districts, but about trying to show they are in control
