As always the blog is full of ignorant posts. From being insensitive to the victim, her family, and her motherless child to being overly sensitive to the alleged perp. Regardless of the situation a life was taken and there are NO EXCUSES for taking someone's life. From what I gather both women had wronged each other the last few months. Ms. White had even been warned on campus by officials about her attitude, there were many complaints from others about how she had been acting. So, with that being said please pray for both families because with this Ms. White will more than likely be suggested for the death penalty (premeditated) and Ms. Newsome has already lost her life. We as a community will never know what these young ladies would of become. So, WE all hurt when our neighbors hurt, right?, or do we just take that attitude when we are in church on Sunday?

countryboy14u you sound just like most of the people in Natchez. You take every problem your city has and place blame either on the opposite race or political party or the next county or city. All of you all need to concentrate on what you bring to the table as a citizen. What have YOU done to help straighten up Natchez? The problems in Natchez are the responsibility of the elected officials THERE and the people THERE and are not the fault of other places who are having problems. Also, when is the last time you stayed, voted, lived, shopped etc in Fayette, Jackson, Meadville, etc. If you can't answer then you need to concentrate on where you live and leave those cities out of it. The forum is about Natchez and no place else!! Natchez is going down due to too many people pointing fingers and the citizens sitting around complaining and not stepping up. Glad that I have finally gotten away, sad for all those good people there in Natchez I left behind. Again the Natchez Democrat needs to take these post down. If a business wanted to come there and did research and read these posts, do you think they are coming? Most posts are filled with racial hatred, political hatred, and ignorance.

On What does it take to be a sheriff?

Moved to Natchez a few years ago and thought that Sheriff Ferrell was such a good man until I ran across this: http://friendsofjustice.wordpress.com/cu....

There he is standing with other Sheriff's from around the state at Ole Miss to keep James Meredith from attending school. We all need to remember that the bible says that you will one day reap what you have sown but sometimes our children will do our reaping. I still do not understand why this is even in this newspaper seeing that it is not national news nor MS news but LA news (south LA to be exact). Although I really do not care for this man's father but was this put in the paper just to embarrass his family there in Natchez?

To Mrs. Middleton, Kennie J. and Keegan, my prayers and love are with you all. I wish I could be there for you all during this time. I have soo many memories of Mr. Middleton from when I was about 6 until my adult years of having to frequent his office at the courthouse. He was truly a man of God, a good, honest man and the world has lost an angel. We love you but God loves you best.

How long has Atty. Dunmore been working on this ordinance? (Remember this has come on many times before and the county hired her to write it up) The county has been having her write and re-write, add and take out for almost three years now. This is sad after all this time to not have an ordinance in place and it is a waste of money. Come on supervisors and get this in place to protect the people as well as the animals, especially those who people just put out any where.

I use to work with this program and if the law would allow people to see what goes on inside the youth courtrooms, you would just cry. The majority of these kids come from single parent homes and the other half are being cared for by ailing grandparents. The kids come from rich, poor, black, white, private and public school backgrounds. Crime and drugs don't have blinders on. So, generoberts, until you walk in someone else's shoes, please don't judge. This program is to stop them from growing up to being adult users and offenders. Congrats to the grads, Judge Hudson (who loves and takes out alot of time with these kids), all of the Counselors, and to all of the AOP officers and counselors.

I find it an insult to say that Natchez will turn into another Fayette. What happened to Fayette is called desegregation, when the whites left the businesses left. Also, throughout the years no one did anything at city meetings but think of how to take care of themselves. Natchez has had the same opportunity over and over to correct themselves but whites vote for whites not the issues and blacks do the same thing. Natchez' s citizens do not speak up when they need to only when it is something on the level of stupidity. How many times has something of real value happened at the schools and parents along with citizens do nothing? How many board meetings whether county or city have many citizens even bothered to attend. Fayette lost all of its businesses in a matter of a few short years, then the railroad and bus stopped coming through town, and the biggest thing was that the "by-Pass" was built, taking 61 from coming right through the city to the outskirts. Natchez has how many highways coming right through and are not taking advantage of it. They put more time into bull and making this place a retirement community, which it is basically already there. Nothing is open past 12, except Walmart and maybe one or two gas stations. If your child got sick you have to pray that you take her to the right hospital. Natchez can do better if we the citizens start making our alderpersons do better. Mathis, Gray, and Fields seem to already have their own agenda before the meetings even start. This is not how to conduct the business of Natchez!!!!

Congrats Coach!!! It would be interesting to see how high your number would go if they could add in all your years in all the programs you coached on the college and high school levels. I don't think that you will be a part of the campus group to be cleaned out in just a few short months. Again congrats!!

I am 33 years old and still haven't found a doctor like him, except Dr. Young (Ear, Nose, and Throat). He was my pediatrician and knew all there was to know about me without even looking at my chart. If you were sick you didn't have to wait for an appointment he just told your parents to bring you in. I still have soo many memories of this man. Last year, I had the opportunity to speak to his wife and I just had to let her know how much I loved this man and to please tell him. She said that so many of his "children" (she said that it is how he referred to his patients) are always telling her how much they loved him. My only hope is that he knew just the impact he had on Natchez, MS's babies and adults during those years of practice and consequently after. We love you still Dr. Killelea!!
