I suppose he could have had a heart attack and died while the girlfriend was gone. I hope (for his and his family's sake) that is what happened. I would hate to think someone laid up in an attic and died from the heat.

This is so sad. I'm not trying to point fingers, but when someone is missing, shouldn't you look at the last place anyone knew they were? Wouldn't that be your FIRST place to look? I understand that he was mentally ill - that's all the more reason to check on him often. Poor guy. I hope he didn't suffer.

I am still confused. The authorities haven't even released an official statement as to what actually happened. I'm still wondering that. I understand (because of this story) that this guy was partially (or fully) responsible, but what exactly happened? Maybe I missed that story.

How exactly did he cause this? Was he the one going the wrong direction?

Can someone update us on the deputy? I hope he is ok. I'm surprised there was no mention of his condition. If everyone would read the article, it clearly states that there was an eye witness to the entire accident from start to finish. If he (or she) thought the deputy was at fault, I seriously doubt they would have lied about it. Let's try and think positive and pray for the deputy.

Is it supposed to be "M-U-S-I-C-A-L may"? Sorry, couldn't help myself!

Vidaliachristianteen, with all due respect, politics and things surrounding it make people talk. Most all humans have some sort of opinion on the subject and like to discuss it with others. Most of us here are adults and can agree to disagree. That's something you will learn about in time. There have been positive comments on here, perhaps you missed those? It is anyone's choice to read the comments or not and my advice to anyone who does not like the comments is - don't read them. I mean no disrespect to you, but you have to try and look at it from all sides. However, I do respect you for voicing your opinion.

Triscuit, you are right. I hope my comments didn't offend anyone. This is such a tragedy. I would not want to be in their shoes. Anything can happen to anyone at any time. We just never know.
