how is it racist when the w and msu were also proposed to be merged. There are many community colleges that should be consolidated also. i do think ms valley should be consolidated with jsu or alcorn but not all three. that in itself would save on a lot of duplicated administative services. You can keep all the campuses but have one central administative department. i do not see our legislaters coming up with any sugestions.

it seems to me that gottabehappy thinks because it was mr. worley that that is the reason for the hadicapped accesable sidewalks--but if anyone can remember the last time there was a major overlay a lot of the sidewalks got the ada accesable sidewalks so i do not think it is related. as for the funds that were returned all you have to do is look at the alderman because they fight among themselves so each district does not get left out--regardless as to the fact that the streets that are the worst ought to get priority regardless as to what district they are in.

i believe that you can vote in the runoff--it is only when there is a primary runoff that you can not vote if you did not vote in the first primary. not 100% sure but i think that is the way it is. everybody needs to stop talking about the ones that are out of the race now, there is no need to keep bashing them.

All the canadites have served in some form of law inforcement so you can bet that somewhere down the line they have let someone off of some kind of crime. what about some of the other canadites large contributors, i am sure they want something for thier money. the most important qualities for the job are honesty, integrity, and a knowlege of the job. Just because someone is a nice guy does not mean he can not do the job. some of the post on hear make no sense and are just to stir up trouble. i would rather an honest person doing the job that can learn some of the finer points of administration than a crokked person that knows how to hoodwink the community.

a bond is like a loan--but no matching money--so with the bond we have to pay for all the money while not getting any grant money-that makes a whole lot of sence--why not take the loan get the grant money and then have a lower bond down the road

part of the problem is there are some departments that are shorthanded therefore they are paying overtime to get things done and when there is other emergencys that come up grass cutting is what is put on the back burner that is how it could possibly save some money. another note if hire someone to do it they are more likely to do a better job because they will not get paid vs some of the people we have doing it now who really do not care--so lets get rid of the ones not doing their jobs andhire people who will

you can not just look at what the paycheck says when you figure the savings you have to know the insurance retirement ect. . i do not think donnie and judge blough make what was stated in one blog. If the employees are transfered to another department or can do the other part of there job and save overtime by having time to do the rest of there job then privatizing the grass cutting will save money. Everyone needs to realize what mr. Gray said-he is worth his pay--I ask him and everyone---does he think he is worth the same as a starting firefighter and police officer or should his pay be anywhere close. i think not-- you can aurgue that his should be lowere or police and fire higher, but either way is should not be close.
this is a start for the aldermen thanks to the 3 members that sit to the right of the mayor

If it was not voted on then once again they are breaking the law by withholding these raises. no matter when or where they discuss this it still must be voted on in an open meeting.

i think mrs. ronnie brown would be a very good interim sheriff. the thing is, whoever they appoint should not be anyone that is going to run in the special election. if they are going to it gives that person an unfair advantage over anyone else that wants to run. the bos should appoint someone that does not plan to run for the position in the special election
