Downtown is not a good area for a RV park, not just because of an aesthetic clash with its surroundings, but think of the traffic problems. An RV park is not a bad idea in itself, but it should be located in a more appropriate area.

Oh, and one more thing Mrs. Meng. Anyone who does something like this SHOULD NOT BE PITIED and any God that has mercy on them is worthy of neither worship nor adoration!

The miscreant that did this deserves a public flogging followed by a public hanging. May his or her legs grow together and they get a severe case of diarrhea.

hitchcock: As whites make up some 70% percent of the population and most of the voters in this country, and blacks only 12%, black voters had little to do with Obama's victory. The majority, white Americans, chose Obama for their next president. How many blacks, or what percentage of blacks voted for Obama is an academic question at best.

If the Democratic candidate had been white, do you think more blacks would have voted for McCain? I think not.

What is presby talking about? What does Barack Obama have to do with this? Maybe it's the mostly black kids in the orchestra. Obama has inspired them to achieve great things.

I think unclered is right, those kids have raised a lot of money. I just hope they have enough.

Keep up the whining smokers, but you're swimming against the tide. Non-smokers do not care about your protests because we have had to put up with your obnoxious, toxic smell for long enough. Your cigarettes stink and they make you and everyone and everything around you stink. The world will not miss you. R.I.P.

On Smoking ordinance truly a no-brainer

Go for it City of Natchez! But don't just ban smoking in restaurants, but in all public buildings, including bars. If Louisiana can do it with its high population of smokers, then Mississippi, where only 24% of people smoke, can do it. After all, the state of Mississippi has never been concerned about minorities.

The conservative "pro life" position offers plenty of irony and hypocrisy. Conservatives have led the struggle against rights for African-Americans and other ethnic minorities, immigrants, women, homosexuals, etc., but are hung up to the point of phobia and hysteria over the supposed "rights" of a mass of tissue cells that cannot survive on its own until its existed outside of the womb for several years.

The answer to the conservative's abortion mania is simple: If you are against abortion, then don't have one. This should never enter the political arena. You people need to get a life and stop worrying about the private lives of others.

To equate Hispanics with illegals is nothing more than racism and bigotry. The vast majority of Hispanics in America are citizens, native born at that, and their ancestors were here long before any anglo or nordic-European people arrived here and their culture and language is as legitimate as yours. Learn some history: They didn't cross the border, the border crossed them. As for Hispanic immigrants, they have every much a right to come here as your ancestors.

Bienvenidos amigos! (And especially the amigas!)

P.S. Sam: May your outhouse be infested with chupacabras.
