And while Ferriday and other towns are dying due to drugs and drug related crime the police force at the direction of the mayor are out scalping the citizens for petty traffic violations.

Any attempt at a public record request will be met with ignorant refusal and downright lawlessness. It is a case of bring your own lawyer. I wish a journalist would get on some of this like a pitt bull dog. The story is out there, will someone please go get it and keep it in the spotlight until positive change is effected.

Ferriday and Woodworth are using their police force to extort the public. That plain, that simple! E-mail Rep. Hollis Downs and support speedtrap legislation today hdowns@legis.state.la I would like to see the mayors court system eradicated in La. as it has been declared unconstitutional by the united states 6th circuit court of appeals because of a built in lack of due process. How can a mayor, who is responsible for the towns finances, adjudicate fines, administered by a police force that he controls? Why do we as Louisianaians put up with that? Please let your legislators know that we are sick and tired of corruption! La. and Ohio are the lone holdouts on this system of injustice. But at least Thomas Moyer, Ohios chief justice on the Ohio supreme court is bent on eliminating those bottom feeder courts. How about it La. politicians? Can you get your hands out of the cookie jar long enough to do the average citizen of this state any good?
