Elected officials are usually paid or their salary is set by the state. It cannot be changed I do not hink alderman or but supervisors are set by statue

On Should the aldermen cut their own pay before making any other cuts?

do not cut law enforcement or fire at any meeting because it will come back to bit you later we keep talking about crime being high, we will really see if we do that our crime problem more in adams than concordia because they do more cases is the court system and the judges the prison system in mississippi is turning out over 5000 people on parole this year now imagine your crime problem most just got to prison last year and are being released because of money it cost mississipi to house them in prison just more for the taxpayers to put out for the court system to send them back we have not saw anything yet just wait and see so my advice chief mullins is to get some volunteer help for your other police

On Do you favor a reduction of city services to balance the city budget?

natchez needs to get like all the other places in our area and get some reserve officers that will work for free adams county and concordia parish has them and this is certified officers that can work and save natchez some money the NPD use to do it but said they could not because of insurance that was 30 years ago and now the state certifies these people and trains them to do a job in law enforcement wake up natchez and smell the roses it is people out here that will help you instead of cutting services i know adams co does and all the agencies in concordia have reserves and it seems to help them the last thing that needs to be cut in natchez is police and fire

maybe natchez needs a volunteer board of alderman and cutting a cell phone is crazy what will not save in the long run when yu need to make contact with someone i guess you want to mail them a letter or tell them to stay at the office all day when they need to be out working

well why don't you put your name on the list or get out and help the officials in office now and demand more from this instead of some post like this one

good job NPD, this was in the paper over two weeks ago that the sheriff dept and metro needed help in arresting this man and they received this info on him from some other state and he was suspose to be a bad guy. I believe the credit on this should go to the metro drug unit and cliff cox for keeping this on the front burnere and amking a arrest in this case. the metro had sheriff deputies, police, metro agents and the swat team from aso and npd all making this arrest because this subject was suspose to be dangerous i believe the discovered a gun also he had and threw in the bushes as usual the ND just published a little short story not getting all the details. folks this was a bad dude

NAMVET true some people do not know the difference

la will handle this man if found guilty and in miss, he would probably get probation or a suspended sentence good for louisiana bad for mississippi because those folks just keep turning their criminals out or turns them out at a trail no justice in mississippi any more
