The key to this dispute and some of your remarks have racial tones, wake up this is 2009 not 1890. The old south should be dead and buried by now.

Yes I do read the paper and watch the news, the govenor can say anything until he signs the bill I don't believe it. If he plans to sign the bill why wait 8 months.

What test have you passed, the test to be ignorant or impolite. The last time I read the constitution, all people have the freedom of the press, are able to speak freely and express themselves. We all pay into to Social Security each time we recieve our pay checks. I was just correcting Enkikur for the rude comment that was made, we also pay into Medicaid. Most people recieving Medicare are only recieving what they have put into to Social Security. Not the case with Medicaid.

Enkikur, get your facts straight, it is Medicaid, not Medicare. Medicare is from the US government for retired persons who have paid into this fund for 30 plus years. Medicaid comes from the state. The governor doesn't want the tobacco tax because he was a lobbiest for the tobacco companies, he doesn't want to offend his friends. I guess once he leaves office he wants to make sure he has a job.

Progress, there is always someone against progress. What is it you want to help the city grow more antebellum homes? Only people that think small, refuse to grow and expand. Many of you complain, do something constructive to help the city go forward. Having Condos on the bluff is better than having a ruined building that has been sitting empty for more than 30 years. Why fight progress, I guess you don't have any options to contribute so you complain.

The author's comments seem to be bias, this mayor is not all that you think , how can you assess him as a level 5 leader when he has only been in office for two weeks. Your comments sound a lot like mud slinging. The mayor can't affect any decisions that the school board makes. He can only offer his opinions, if he has concerns regarding public education why are his children in private school? Talk is one thing, the main objective for the mayor should be obtaining opportunities for jobs and industries to a city that is slowly dieing because tourism is the only focus of many. When are you going to realize that the old south is dead, move on to the high tech age of electronics.

Stop and think about who and what you have elected.Think first of how the mayor was elected, did he play an earnest game or did he buy his votes. Time will tell if he is all that Mr. Cooper thinks he is. Does this new mayor reside in Natchez, Adams County or does he reside in Madison County? A good man is measured by his character, his faith in God, how he treats his fellow man as well as his deeds, how will you measure this man?
