To everyone that has a place in their heart for "special" children.....please consider adopting a child with special needs. I did over 4 years ago and my life has been very blessed. So many children are in foster care that have special needs. Some are major problems and others are not so major. These children are moved from foster home to foster home and that just creates more obstacles for them to face. It is not expensive and it is a fairly easy process. There are subsidies and government tax credits to help with the additional care expense. We desperately need more families to help care for these children. The young children and "normal" children get adopted easily, but the special angels are left to grow up in group homes and state facilities. Please open your hearts. Mother's Day will never be more special.

My Uncle Joe L. was one of the sweetest men I ever met. He will be greatly missed. He was the last of my Grandfather's siblings, but we will continue on with the strong family values they instilled in each of us.

I shop at the Brookhaven Wal-mart. When my parents lived in Natchez, they shopped in Brookhaven. It is clean and the employees are respectful and helpful. Last Friday night I rolled the buggy full of groceries to my car and the black man collecting buggies in the parking lot crossed over two rows to come help me load my car. I was very impressed. I am a not a little old lady or a hot young girl. Just an overweight, hardworking mom. I tried to tip him $5 and he declined the tip. I promise you will never get that level of help in Natchez.

Please accept my deepest sympathy. I always think of our trip to Branson our families shared. I was just a little girl and Mr. Layne drove all the way, but he would stop to buy me an ice cream every time I asked because he liked the way I couldn't pronounce "Brown Derby". It sounded more like "Bwrown Dewby". Even after I was an adult, if I ran into him somewhere, he would offer to buy me a "Bwrown Dewby". Mr. Layne, you were always one of my favorites. May you rest in peace. God Bless the Tiffee Family.

I worked with Geraldine at Metro Communications for years. I loved her and Mr. Hugh. I am so sorry for the loss the family has suffered.
