lharris. you are wasting your time trying to explain anything to these people. These are the same people that log on everyday and post comments because they have nothing better to do with their time. Don't waste yours responding to them. If they woke up one morning and the Democrat didn't allow them to comment..they would stroke out.

username..wherever you carried your business is probably drawing up a plan to ban smoking at their facility as well. Pretty soon all hospitals will implement no smoking on the entire grounds.

Teach..I do it for the same reason. I think of my grandmother who was arrested for attempting to register to vote and today refuses to vote absentee eventhough she has health problems. She would rather get up and go to the polls. I think of those who were murdered because they wanted the right to vote and now we actually have the nerve to sit our ____ at home. That doesn't sit well with me at all.

It disturbs me that Adams County had such a low turn out. My hat off to those who took the time to vote yesterday!!! As a little girl, my mom would take me to vote with her. I can remember going behind the curtains with her and pressing those levers down, then going to school the next day telling all my friends that I voted. I couldn't wait until my 18th birthday so that my vote could really count. Yesterday, my husband and I had both kids with us. They had that same excitement in their eyes that I had so many years ago.

I can remember my cousin being apart ot that first class to graduate from Natchez High, along with Kareem. I think Mayor West had good intentions and I know that some of the best educators were from North Natchez. I can remember being a young girl hearing my cousin talking about teachers like.. Doc Northington, Mrs Pat West and Mr. Oliver. I had the pleasure of being educated by all three at Natchez High. I can remember Mrs. West being the first English teacher to expose me to Richard Wright and other African American authors. I can remember Doc Northington not only teaching Algebra II but he taught life and Mr. Oliver didn't need a textbook because Biology was in his heart. In the society we live in, diversity is important and until Natchez embraces diversity rather than running from it..Natchez will remain a "Certified Retirement City".
