Open your minds and let some light in. You'll be surprised what the effect can have on you. It's okay to learn about others, without feeling like you marry into their family.

There is much, too much emphasize put on race. We know that there are issues that need to be worked out, but when every statement inspires a race debate, then it's going to constantly put a bad taste in everyone's mouth. We'll never come together in that case.

This is crazy. There is too much emphasis put on one statement in this article. Why don't we focus on his accomplishments and celebrate his life?

ITSME, you crack me up. Have you had your coffee this morning? I agree that the statement didn't add value to the article, but did the ND writer have to be black to incorporated that statement?

The battle of the bands has been a tradition for many years. It's amazing that this is generating so much hostility and comments about race. So often, we are looking for the worst, in articles such as this. The kids are staying off the streets. They are not getting in trouble and they are practicing many hours for these performance. Why don't we enjoy the entertainment value. Glenn Miller?? I love jazz as much as the next guy, but, come on!

There are many good points in the comments above. It is expensive to eat healthy. Most social gathering that I've been to in the south does center around food, because southerner are some of the most hospitible people. I don't think that we can blame obesity on the food alone, however, we need to learn to eat in moderation and engage in physical activity. Our kid learn from us, good habits or bad. Many times if we are inactive, then so are they. We need to focus on making the next generation healthier. With that said, I certainly wouldn't judge anyone, simply because they are overweight, because you don't know what their challenges have been.

What I find really amazing is how personal the comments are. Initially, the comments were regarding Harris's conviction. From there it went to contrasting the trail outcomes of Binky versus Harris. Now, personal shots are being taken. Wow!!! Let's give everyone a break and get back to the article. BTW, I hope everything is gramatically correct in this comment.

I agree that there should be punishment. He knows better. However, the punishments are inconsistent in Adams County. If you are part of the old boy network, then you can get by with a slap on the hand. Why isn't Binky serving a prison term?

I agree with Jessie. Thanks ratherbefishin! The question that I have is: As we all know stealing is stealing, no matter what fancy label we put on it, but how can 2375 people for Vines and 2370 people for Walker, just turn a blind eye? Are we saying integrity is not an important character trait for someone to hold public office.
