I went to http://www.cityxpress.com/bonne/natchez/... to see what the item was, since the graphic just said it was a $250 storewide gift certificate, but didn't say what store. As it turns out, the store is listed as Mims in the description. But it says on that page that the value is $750 and that the minimum bid is $375 -- for a $250 gift certificate???

lowrider, I couldn't get your link to work, but according to what I found on the Navy website, the USS Mississippi became the Kilkis. The Lemnos actually started out as the USS Idaho.

Actually, notfromnatchez, the "flashing of breasts" is not by any means synonymous with Mardi Gras, at least not to those who are from a place where Mardi Gras is celebrated and didn't grow up with MTV. That's an unfortunate byproduct of the more recent commercialization of it. It's gone on for quite awhile in NO to a limited degree, but it wasn't nearly as widespread as it has become in the last twenty years or so. MTV is the worst thing that ever happened to it.

Hmmm.... So the Cabot Lodge and Hilton are the only two hotels in Jackson? Interesting. Silly me, I always thought there were others from which to choose.

If all else fails, head to the Internet. My first hit on Google (http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-0,br...) gave me more breakfast pizza recipes than I could ever read. I'm sure there's one there that would suit your needs.

Opening the bids publicly does not preclude the review of additional criteria. It simply allows the public to see this portion of the process. If they're opened in private, there's no guarantee the minutes will be made public either. Public opening should also not eliminate the possibility of further negotiation as the ND article suggests. It just means there's more public pressure on those who are doing the negotiating.

Is there some reason the developers can't develop the land without it being part of the city?

Perhaps it was a panther. Those are known to be in Mississippi.

I had Mrs. Pressgrove for third grade social studies and she is, without a doubt, my favorite teacher ever. She really did go above and beyond to make the class interesting and help kids want to learn. For example, she taught the girls in our class to hula, got us all penpals in Japan, and even set up a conference call with the South Pole. We love you, Mrs. Pressgrove!
