Natchez1 So you think Catholics dont care for protestants and thats there way of showing there dislike by tearing down an old delapidated building.. Poor Poor Silly you.. this is the problem with religion as a whole.. to much bitterness between them and competition.. treat people the way you want to be treated .. you dont practice religion if you think this way .. get a life.. religions in this town are equivalent to Social Clubs.. I guess that is the case in most places..What a joke of a statement..

Maybe the article on August 12th promoting the bands should have been in the paper again this week.. that could be more helpful for attendance! that was so long ago..

I dont think the column was that bad.. I did read it but I think the Democrat misses the boat when it comes to promoting our festivals.. the focus should be on The GMRBR and many articles should be written promoting the artists and balloonist so the fairgrounds will be full.. to many festivals in Natchez are realized after they are over.. the Democrat always shows up to take a photo during the festival but not enough is done before the event.. put a lot of pictures from the past festivals in the paper showing how much fun everyone had at past festivals.. like when Better Than Ezra and North Mississippi All Stars played two years ago the fairgrounds were packed.. maybe photos from that would help draw a large crowd again..most newspapers around the country devote a section to arts and entertainment so the public will attend.. the Democrat expects you to buy ads if you want to promote a non profit festival.. it should be a two way street.. help promote the HELL out of it and then when the festival has lots of revenue then they buy big ads.. its simple..

Julie.. Why not make your headline: BALLOON RACE WEEKEND FEATURES NATIONAL ARTIST most people will probably not even read this or relate this to the balloon festival.. LEON RUSSELL .. HILL COUNTRY REVUE .. BETTER THAN EZRA... EASY EDDIE AND THE PARTY ROCKERS... COUNTRY FRIED are all appearing this weekend and many more.. there will be a second stage for local artist this year.. there is so much more to write about than comparing it to other festivals around the country unrelated.. I hope they get better coverage than this in the next few days!

Happiness is a warm gun refers to heroin from the Beatles song but I guess it will do for this article!

I knew Pete Jackson and he did not use drugs like she said. He liked his Miller beer in a can and thats all.. He was a very spiritual man and very caring. I only wish she didnt have to walk the streets in 15 years. He always had problems with her and she was the drug user. The most non violent man I knew.. may he rest in Peace.

Why can't the Democrat be more specific and let everyone know what movie is being played. Dont they proof read and realize this. It is a Pink Panther movie with Peter Sellers and they are very funny!! Just dont know which one. As usual the Democrat always has mistakes and its not a grammar error this time.

Our judges are more concerned about votes than doing the right thing.. We need to vote the judges out of office and start voting for the person who will enforce the law. Our elections are always based on a popularity contest. The most qualified never wins. Whoever has the most money and can swing the most dirt in the face of their opponent usually ends up winning. That is why we never have qualified people running because they can make a much better living without having to be dragged through the mud by the opposition party. When DANNY BARBER was judge he was fair and always did the right thing. He made them serve their time for doing the crime.

Isn't it funny that people say Michael Jackson was trying to become white when a lot of movie stars and house wives that are white change their bodys by breast augmentations and botox.. I guess they want to be black then because they lay out in the sun all day waiting for coctail hour and in the winter go to the tanning salon.. hahah this article did suck!

A lot of folks that voted against Butch would love to have that vote back. Look who we have elected. Hank Smith one term, Phillip West one term should have been two.. Jake Middleton is definitely a one term mayor. Butch has brought more money to Natchez thru highway funds that has not cost us anything. After he finishes that project at Tracetown then he will start another one at the old weigh station with a fly bridge. he brings many MDOT meetings to Natchez. Just look at all the trucks at the hotels. This man has brought in more revenue to Natchez than all three mayors put together yet he still gets a lot of flack from a bunch of people that have probably never lifted a finger for this community. He spearheaded a project to have our bridge outlined with lights. This is something you rarely see on bridges in a community our size. Will be something to see at night when it is completed. He has held positions much bigger than mayor of Natchez since being voted out. Should tell the voters they screwed up in voting him out. When he lost mayor he received a phone call from then Vice President Al Gore and then Senator Trent Lott expressing their regret on his loss. Both parties were disappointed go figure. No Natchez he wasn't that bad of a mayor and we would be so lucky to have him run again. Why would he subject himself to these fools that give him such grief when they haven't contributed anything to Natchez.
