Iraqi. I would just like to say a huge THANK YOU for what you do. I have the utmost respect for our men and women in the military, probably because my grandfather served in WWII. I can't even imagine what you go through and the sacrifices you make but no matter what the circumstances, you will always have my support and respect.

Considering the state of our nations economy, if Obama wants to prove that he is willing to do what is best for the country, then he should forego the elaborate and expensive inaugural balls and celebrations the will cost the taxpayers millions. One of the companies that was bailed out was blasted for having an elaborate and expensive function after everything that had happened, so to me it is the same. Start balancing the budget on Day 1 if you really want to make a change.

Now. Since the racial barriers were brought down, can we please get rid of BET, NAACP, and the Miss Black America pageant? We are supposed to be "one nation under God" and these are programs do nothing more than segregate our country and promote reverse discrimination.

Maybe it's just me but I find it ironic how many in the past posted about Bush being "your president, not mine" but now all of a sudden, Obam is expected to be "our" president.

Iraqi, some of us are not so eager to "jump on board" because we don't believe in the same things that our new president believes in. For example, I do not believe in abortion and I certainly do not believe in legalizing partial birth abortin or allowing underage girls to have abortions without parental consent. Quite the contrary, I believe we should teach abstinence.
Secondly, many Americans don't have a clue what really goes on because we are only told what the media and the government WANTS us to hear.
I did not vote for Obama and did not want him leading this country because of his beliefs (or lack therof). However, I have already began to pray that he will seek the Lord's guidance on the decisions he has to make and that the Lord will change his heart about issues such as abortion.

Now. If we can just get Obama to cancel all the fancy balls, or at least if he insists on having them, he should invite all of us and 'share the wealth'. I would love to have a $1000 plate instead of McD's dollar menu.
