First of all congratulations to the Natchez 9's. What a great team all around. These are some of the best young men I know. My son and our family have been with this team for the last two years. This team, coaches, and parents all feel like family. We have enjoyed every minute of it. We could not have asked for a better head coach. To you Dixie Youth Fan, there is bitterness in your tone no doubt. Gary Farmer had absolutely nothing to do with the fireworks. Those were in fact a group of kids just celebrating. Obviously they were used when we beat your team. Otherwise you wouldn't care. These boys made a great team. But not without great coaches. They were not bad coaches or we would not have won the State Title last year and a South State this year. There were some good teams at the tournament and maybe we did over look some of them. But the way the tournament was set up was not very smart. The team that now holds the State Title never could defeat the team that holds the South State Title. Go figure!! ---Kim Dukes

On Natchez 9s fall short in state title bid

Evidently there are a few people out there who really do know everything. What people make, who was fired, and other details that a good person wouldn't gossip about. For the record, peripheral vascular and cardiac procedures done in the cath lab should be extremely profitable as well as helpful to the people that need them. I do know the codes and reimbursements, average salaries, requirements for personnel, etc when referring to the cath lab. It takes more than "just an x-ray tech" to make a program profitable. It takes experience. A lot of experience. It takes money to bring experience to a town that has been struggling in more ways than one. Yes, NRMC has some serious issues. It must now make some very serious decisions. For instance, should we give up? Should we remain "Mayberry Like"? No. We should fight for what the people of this community need. I for one do not want to have to go more than an hour for emergency treatment for the leading cause of death in this region. Cardiac Disease. We must fight for our hospital. For the department director that continues to mention names, stop. You are only hurting others with your so called knowledge. It is your type of thinking that has probably spawned much of the fear and hatred that others try so hard to avoid.

On Attorney: Hospital plan should be decided upon in the next 30 days

I just hope we don't take advice from people who dont't know the facts. I'm a heart patient. I don't want to die in route to another hospital because our heart lab is closed or because the only cardiologist in town refuses to do caths here. You people better wake up! We need to take advantage of the resources we have in place already.
