It doesn't matter if the little girl swerved in front of that car. The driver should have stopped--period! If it was a complete accident that's even more reason to stop if you aren't at fault. I agree with a previous comment--what in the heck were two people doing riding on the hood??

You are right...I do have the fever, my husband too. Unfortunately, his work will keep us here a bit longer. We will be back and we know it. The last time I was there, I drove around and saw all the wonderful things taking place, it gets us even more excited about moving back. I do see progress. We moved from Natchez a couple of years ago and it is amazing what has happened in those two years.
When we move back, I want to get involved and help out in any way that I can. I think Natchez is lucky to have someone like Carrie in charge of the NDDA. Her enthusiasm and love for our blessed town is contagious!!

Msfixit, you are right. We need to let the police department do their job. Justice will be served when the time is right. I guess we all just need to be patient.

Wow, you almost brought tears to my eyes with your post. I agree with everything you said. I miss strolling downtown and hearing the church bells in the background, the smell of the sweet olive trees and Pearl St. Pasta. I miss hearing the boats as they travel the mighty Mississippi River. I miss that it took me at least an hour to grocery shop because you always stopped and talked to your friends. I miss that when my oldest was a baby, I had so many people come by and visit us and offer their help. I miss going to the marketplace for coffee and beignets, and visiting with Mr. Mike. I miss seeing all my friends and family. Natchez is truly magical and trust me, after living elsewhere, I feel that it is more magical than ever!

Trust me, the majority of people in big cities don't care that you have three children under the age of four riding in your car. If you aren't driving over the speed limit, they will run you over!! I hate driving in this city and I feel like I am putting my children's lives at risk every time we hit the road...Sayitloud, you are so right that Natchez offers TRUE kindness to its citizens...Just my opinion!!

What is the latest news? What is NPD waiting for before they arrest him?

I LOVE Natchez!! I grew up there, but live elsewhere now. I think about Natchez all the time and dream of moving back. We hope to be back in a few years. I live in a big city and trust me, those that live in Natchez have it made...I miss going places and seeing familiar faces. You can always know that if you need something or help, it is always right there!
I know our expectations are different, but trust me, Natchez is one of the best places to live. What a beautiful little town! Gotta love Natchez!!!

I live in Baton Rouge and travel Airline daily. This does work, I'm telling you. Be open minded and you will be so thankful that they did this. The drivers in this city are way worse than Natchez drivers and I can't think of one wreck at that intersection.
Give it a chance Natchezians. Do research and see what other cities think of it.
