Now that the citizens have spoken, how will the recreation complex be funded? I am all in favor of the complex, and according to the BOS the county will pay for the complex then the city and school will do the maintanance. I am willing to bring on to my radio show and let you explain the process to the public. Eddie Ray KWTG/KFNV

Ms. Rena Jean, Dr. Schmieg was the doctor who first saw me in the emergency room at UMC after a hunting accident. He came to my room as often as he could to give me updates on my condition. He will be missed. Eddie Ray

The Vidalia Police Department issued an arrest warrant today (Tuesday) on a charge of second-degree murder for Michael Kelly Stevens, 41, formerly of Houston, Texas, and recently of Vidalia.
According to Police Chief Ronnie G. “Tapper” Hendricks, Stevens is a suspect in the death of Michael W. Welch, 52, whose body was found in his Myrtle Street home Sunday (10/4/09) shortly after 6 p.m.
Stevens is described as a white male, 6-ft., 1-in. tall, 210 lbs., having brown hair and blue eyes. Hendricks said it is believed that Stevens has stolen and fled in Welch’s truck, a silver 2006 Chevy Silverado, Louisiana license plate number W746162.
Law enforcement officials believe Welch may have been dead two to three days before his body was found by his brother, Darrell Welch, who stopped by to check on him.
The suspect had been staying with the victim in recent months, and used the 804 Myrtle Street address when registering with the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office as a sex offender.
The victim’s body has been sent to the Jefferson Parish, LA, Coroner’s Office for an autopsy. The Vidalia Police Department declined to release a probable cause of death until the autopsy and subsequent report are complete.
The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office is assisting in the homicide investigation. Anyone with any information pertaining to this case is urged to contact Investigator Randy Stockman with the Vidalia Police Department (318-336-5254) or Investigator David Hedrick with the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office (318-336-5231).
Stevens, who was convicted in Houston, TX, in 1987 of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old boy, reportedly moved to Concordia Parish in early 2005. He was arrested in April 2005 by the Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile and failure to register as a sex offender after reportedly fondling a 5-year-old girl who was outside playing near a relative’s Vidalia apartment.
He was convicted on the Concordia Parish charges and was incarcerated at the Concordia Parish Correctional Facility near Ferriday until October 2007.

The school is going to air this program regardless of the parents objections. I went yesterday to check my daughter out for a doctors appointment. I was informed that there is a new policy no child can be checked out after 2:45. I was informed that this policy was just put into place this year and that it was in the handbook. So, I checked the handbook also in there is no saggy pants, cell phones, fighting, cursing, etc. The afternoon I arrived on campus at the Natchez High School 3 of the above mentioned actions were taking place. At Friday nights ballgame against Ferriday on player was kicked out the game. I hope they enforce all rules not just the rules that are easy to enforce.

Ben, Eddie Ray here, word of mouth is the best/worst information there is. If an establishment has good/bad service the word will get around and people will not visit that business. No matter how many times that business runs ads in the paper or on radio nothing and I mean nothing will change people’s perception of the business. Before I got into radio I worked in the pest control business, if I gave my best to the customer it showed, if I rushed through the job and did it wrong it showed. Studies in business show that you can have ten successful accounts, you anger one customer or have one bad experience with an account the word of mouth will get around. Then it steamrolls from there. What the employees/business owners must realize that their pay and success of the business is based on sales alone. Fewer customers less pay. Yes, you will get busy or a customer will come in with an attitude. You may be having a bad day but then you have some days when things will roll and the customers will come and it takes an armed guard to help you take your deposit at the bank. With times like these and jobs are scarce it behooves us all consumers/business owners remember that it all comes back to customers service
