The senator is reacting to many many complaints. Not a couple. Any of you who doubt, take a ride out to Homochitto and walk around. Try and find a fresh deer track or jump a deer. They aren't there. As for you Obama, I "mantain" your a moron as well. Nothing you have said is based on any fatcs, It is all opinion and conjecture. You going on your feelings as an anti-hunting prozac popping anti-social isolationists mind-set. Well you go right ahead and keep making up those ideals and maybe just maybe some one will agree with you like sheep. The senator is prohunting obviously, or he has many constituents who are, and values the vote, or better yet his job. You can very well be anti-hunting Obama, thats YOUR God Given right. but like it or not there are more hunters than you are apparently comforatble with. Get over it, go watch TV or start a new book. Whether a hunter hunts for sport or food is of no consequence really?! Truthfully, ost hunters don't make a kill all season anyway. Our point here is, it is compounded due to the out of staters slaughter that has taken place on this particular piece of tax payer land. But, giving you your due here, I agreed with you and so have some others here. We think it should be closed on Homochitto, at least for three or four years so the deer can propogate. Then, more stringent rules for harvest shoulod be taken. More than one hunter from across the river has made the comment, " I am gonna get my 435.00 worth of meat, for what I paid for that out of state license." Private land has plaenty of deer. But there is no longer plenty of private land for hunters. So, they are forced to hunt public land.

"The world without us"? you must be a card carrying member of PETA? the group who wants the colonel to stop frying chickens? Please! man has hunted all his history. All of it. It is a God given right. Most who hunt eat what they kill. If you will reread these posts, they have been about killing does, female deer. What on earth does that have to do with prestige? We do hunt for trophy animals yes admittedly, but again this is our right. The limits you mentioned are fine with me. Some counties in Texas only allow one deer. This is why Texas has more and higher quality of deer. You and Alan W should move somewhere together, where human contact is not an option. Then you can live in a world without us!

Maybe so, but hunting has been around longer than you and I.

I was raised hunting sandy Creek and Homochitto. I hunted mostly the portion they call Freewoods off of 33. This place used to be a paradise. But, on Freewoods dogs are allowed and I can take you to places, on the public portion of land, where does carcasses are piled knee deep where the out of state and some local hunters mow through deer like crap through a goose. They cull nothing!! Nothing. I once sat on a stand, not too long ago, while listenong to them talking on a small hand held radio, how they had just shot 4 does and a buck and wondered how to get them out without being caught. There are places in Sandy Creek locals call "coon___" graveyards where deer carcasses are brought to cut the hams, backstraps and front shoulders off and are taken with the rest left to the buzzards. IF you travel to Freewoods, and go the place they call Indian mound, Most know where this is, there is a gravel road across from this pasture turn down it, and look at all the deer parts left there over the years. Most of this land around indian mound is private, so the governement owned land that is close is treated as private, and they kill any deer they see. There used to be a fed game warden out there often. The locals called him chocolate chip becuase he was a black guy with some pigmenting on his face. He no longer goes out there either. So, the people who own land on out there kill what they want. There are baited hog traps everywhere you look. This too is unregulated. They run dogs on public land all year long for deer, in turkey and bow seasons when it is illegal to do so. If you stop at they're camp and speak to them about it, they tell you they're dogs got out of the pen?!! My point here is, the illegal killing of deer is going on on some of the forest, but maybe not all. Some people say they see deer, but thats probably on Homochitto the portion off Liberty. But rest assured, if you see a pickup riding around or leaving on sunday headed south, chances are it will have several of the big white 160 qt ice chests in it full of quartered deer. These areas first need to be shut down for 3 to 4 years at least. Dog hunting for deer, should be banned. No doe killing allowed what so ever, unless MDFP issues permits. Tagging should be instated with a qouta of 6 or 8 point or better. One of you mentioned this ruckus is just becuase the deer population is not what it used to be, hunters are raising cain? thats true only becuase we have seen deer numbers there at a good level, and people followed the law. But with the camps that are allowed so close to public land as they are, the practice of some killing indiscriminately is never going to stop. It used to be fun to hunt in Sandy Creek and Homochitto, now, "you have to bring your own tree". The same will soon be said of St Catherine. The warden presence used to be higher there. But in recent years due to some unknown reason, the wardens are scarce. make no mistake, the hunters know this and take advantage of it.

Also people keep in mind, that right now we have a Democratically controlled congress. Why in H__L should we top it off with a democratic president? It is ludicrus. He wants to sit down with the prez of Iran like they are old school mates and have a chat? For what? These people hate us, they are killin are boys in Irag and Afgan wars, they are the very presence of evil. Joe Biden is the very escence of a loud mouthed blow hard who will cuase issues unless they keep him under wraps. Niether one of the present candidates is worthy of the office. They are both rejects from a governement that has no clue what the constitution says or means. Either way we go, this country will never ever be the same again. I have kids who are going to grow up into a world where life will not be as it was, and they will have to fight for the same type of living we have had. The days of prosperity are over.

Well lets see...Obama is an Illinois senator, chicago had more deaths last year than Iraq and Afgan war combined, so when are we gonna pull out of Chicago? This country is partly in a recession folks becuase of who we foresee in th whitehouse, not only becuase who is in the whitehouse. Please remember that our congress right now, is a democraticallyy controlled congress. They are part of the probelm, but low and behold, we won't to top off the cake with a democrat prez? will the last person to leave wall street, please turn out the light.

As long as it drops, oil patch jobs will start to go with it though. Good for customers, bad for drillers. May see the 80's bust all over again. Lots of people depend on drilling and exporation. No need to drill when you can buy it cheaper. How ya gonna buy gas, when you lost your job cuase of getting layed off? won't need gas then.

This happened in Winnsboro. There, they were taking items out the back door of the store through the store room, and bring it back in the front exchanging them for other like items. The "new" items, were then scanned by customer service, and could be taken out the front door.
