Mucusplug: Mimi has a WONDERFUL, and very sweet disposition. If it weren't for Mimi (and her husband, Ron) Natchez would not be anywhere close the historic city it is shaping into. Mimi and Ron have been the key in developing and implementing the restoration of many buildings in the historic areas and revitalizing downtown. Not to mention the tremendous amount of work they put into EVERY YEAR in order for us to have the Great Mississippi Balloon Race! Shame on you for using this site to put someone down. Especially someone who puts an endless amount of effort into our city and its progress.

Do you (ntz143) realize how heavily weighted our board of alderman is? Hank Smith didn't have much to work with. We, as citizens of Natchez, need to wipe the whole slate clean and start with brand new city government. Look at the city of Madison--they did that 20-something years ago, and look where they are now! Natchez is on the brink, and can go one way or another. If we stay with current administration (4 years mayoral experience) you can say good-bye to all the potential Natchez has. As for the other mayoral candidate, who has 16 years experience (as alderman), what has he actually accomplished with his years of ‘experience’? Look where we sit as a community. I agree with with Ms. Pugh, and fully support the idea of a new mayor, as well as new aldermen.

Rain or snow, please get out and support our downtown merchants and Carrie Lambert! She is doing an excellent job of developing and implementing events tourists as well as citizens of Natchez!

FYI- Middleton and West are running on the Democratic ticket; Graning is running as an Independent. He will face the winner of Middleton and West in June....that is if no one else qualifies to run as of 5 p.m. today.

Maybe the reason parents choose to send their children to private or parochial schools has to do with their faith. Also, maybe there are smaller class sizes where teaching AND learning can be more effective.
