You know, sometimes restaurants close because the food is not good or the service is bad. Sometimes shops close because they don't have anything to sell that anyone wants or because the owners are irritating and rude. Everyone who has a failed business wants to blaim it on Natchez. Look around there are shops etc that have been here a long time and will remain regardless of parking etc etc etc. You can't just open a gift shop with a bunch of junk and expect to make it. You can't open a restuarant with bad food and expect to stay opened.

Isn't it funny how the red necks and Kluxers have always said that if you had 1 drop of black blood in you then you were black, but now that Obama is president they want to call him bi-racial.

I agree Pilgrimage is a silly word to use. Actually, the new trend is to talk about how the people lived and where the slaves lived etc. This is what tourists want these days. It is not so much about the house but about the people. No one care what religion you are in natchez.

That has nothing to do with the point I am trying to make. People spend a lot of money on these old houses and it is perfectly normal for them to try to fight over this type of thing. Everybody fights for their property. I cannot imagine anyone on this blog that would like it if fat mamas moved next door. Do you actually think it is fair that someone buys a house in the historic district and people can come along and build anything next door. It has nothing to do with garden clubs. The gammills are the garden club.
There is an irony here. I heard that they had to stay close to the balloon festival because they make major money during it. The Historic Natchez Foundation started the balloon festival.
