When Randy Freeman was a jailer and when he first went on patrol, he had a truck that cleaned parking lots. He worked a lot of strange hours just to be able to afford to work for the sheriff's office. Guy Tuccio is a fireman and and drives a carriage. Some of our law enforcent officers, paramedics, and firemen work two or three jobs so that they can do what they love. And thank God for them.

Being from the deep south, I have grown up knowing that 99.9% of black people are going to think me a racist just because I am white. So disagreeing with the Obama administration and being called racist for it means nothing to me. However, disagreeing with Obama and being called a republican for it stings in the worst way. Also, if I said half the nit witted things Jimmy Carter says, I would be locked up doing the thorazine shuffle.

I need health care reform, personally. I have ventured into H.R. 3200 a bit. Because of the way that bill is written, I am going to be in the same shape when it passes as I am now. I want it done right. I have a disability that qualifies me for medicaid and disabiltiy(and therefore subsidies for housing and food). I work because I choose to. My doctor hammered at me for three years to quit work and go on disability. I refused and he finally agreed that I can work. But for the first three years after diagnosis, I was considered non compliant. There is a section in H.R. 3200 that addresses non compliancy. If a person is non compliant with treatment, that treatment will be terminated. No clarifications as to what non compliancy, just a blanket thrown over all of it. There is also a section that deals with readmissions. When a person has to be readmitted for the same problem, payment to the hospital and health care providers will be reduced. That leaves a lot of people with certain problems extremely vulnerable to receiving less than good health care. For example, some mental illnesses require hospitilization immediately and, in some cases often. Mentally ill people already get the shaft when it comes to health care. This is going to make it worse. The writers of the bill know this, and have provided for reporting a situation where a person feels they are not being treated because of the reduced payment for readmissions. I don't know any mentally ill people, who, when faced with red tape in the midst of a crisis, would be able to report anything. Medicare benefits for individuals will not be decreased, but reimbursement to doctors will be reduced. I don't know many doctors who are going to be good hearted enough to treat someone on Medicare if they can make more money treating a person with private insurance that pays more. If this administration bullies this health care reform through, that's it. There is no hope for things to actually get better. I personally pay a ridiculous amount of money, out of pocket, for this pre existing condition. I can't afford to pay for it and insurance. I sincerely hope that this administration will slow down and do this the right way. I personally think that the solutions are much less complicated than the bill that I have read parts of. As a matter of fact, even though I didn't and wouldn't vote for John McCain, his plan makes much more sense for people like myself. If I didn't have to pay so much in taxes, I would be able to pay an insurance premium, even with the cost I already have.

Thank you, sir, for the invitation.

2008, you should really read at least the parts of some version of the proposed health care bill. It's really quite impossible to read all of it. I found the section that was of most concern to me and read it, including all the parts of the bill that it refers to. In my opininion those that are the most vulnerable to receiving no or substandard health care currently are going to be the same ones receiving substandard or no health care under the proposed legislation. Less readmissions sounds good until you read how they plan to accomplish it. Also, Title IV deals with a change in the current tax code to include a tax on people without a suitable health care plan(suitable being defined by the government) Some of us are going to be taxed, and not just a little bit. I can find no absolute guarantee that the costs related to my pre existing condition are going to be paid in full by this program, but I am going to be taxed because I am self employed. I cannot afford to pay any more taxes and still pay my own medical bills for my pre existing condition. If this health care reform bill( which doesn't actually exist) is so great, why is the administration trying to push it through without giving the voters ample time to read and understand it?

I think everybody agrees we need health care reform. We also want the transparency we were promised.
We want one bill written, and we want ample time to study it for ourselves, because you can't trust cnn or fox anymore. And we want time to express ourselves to our chosen representatives before they pass or don't pass it. And we want our representatives to listen to us. I don't think that is too much to ask.

mojo and all the commentators on cnn and fox seem to believe that everybody is either a Republican or a Democrat. Some of us that aren't in complete agreement with the current administration weren't happy with the last one, either. The lesson some of us learned during the Bush administration is don't ever let politicians rush you into anything. That is how we got The Patriot Act. And most of us who don't like any of the five versions of a health care reform act totally agree that we need health care reform. Just not like this. I predict that before the next presidential election, we are going to see a strong third party emerge. At least that is what I am hoping.

Are there any organizations that accept donations of school supplies?

crackbaby, I agree with your idea, but the would be way too easy. I actually tried to read that bill, and it is going to take a lot longer than a few days to understand it. It's not like you can sit down and read it straight through. There are exceptions made to provisions that have to be read to understand, and that information is somewhere else in the bill, or in another bill altogether. It's a lot of research and note taking. So far, I have more questions than answers. I think I may actually be dumb enough that I need someone to go over it with me line by line. Some reasonable, unbiased person needs to teach a class.

Speaking of true colors, didn't Beyonce Knowles handle that situation graciously. And so did Taylor Swift, whereas, I would have take the microphone back and beat him over the head with it. Those two young ladies are admirable
